∎ HSC
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Consult the risk assessment for an activity or excursion
∎ Write and carry out risk assessments for all activities and excursions
∎ Plan, organize and implement a range of appropriate activities during daytimes, afternoons and evenings
∎ Take responsibility for, or joint responsibility for, excursions, ensuring you have planned sufficiently well to guide the team member effectively
∎ Ensure that all activity staff have been inducted and understand their roles and are familiar with the risk assessments for all activities & excursions.
∎ Make sure they have the correct information and resources to lead successful excursions and activities.
∎ 'Lead by example' and regularly participate actively in activities, even if not rostered. »
∎ Provide regular staff development for Activity Leaders including arranging and recording formal observation sessions. »
∎ Hold activity leader daily briefings and regular meetings to discuss/inform them of the programme schedule and deal with any questions or requests that they may have.
∎ Ensure the quality of the activities and excursions meets company standards and customer expectations by regularly observing and taking part in activities.
∎ Manage the activity equipment and ensure it is returned after each activity
∎ Ensure that activities and excursions you are running are structured, inclusive and appropriately resourced
∎ Research an excursion destination so as to be able to guide team member effectively
∎ Lead and guide team member when on excursions and guided walking tours, communicating with them in a way that is clear, informative and engaging
∎ Help promote the activity programme to team member by displaying posters or visiting classes Management: Co-manage and motivate a team of residential and sometimes not residential staff
∎ Lead regular team meetings to inform Counsellors of their tasks related to the activity and excursion programme
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Excellent communication skills
∎ Proven leadership skills
∎ Exceptional organizational skills
∎ Proven ability to work effectively under pressure
∎ Positive, "can-do" attitude. » Flexible, confident and dynamic.
∎ Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.
∎ Able to priorities and delegate tasks.
∎ Commitment and enthusiasm for working with young people in an international setting.
