The Upazila Job Placement Officer will be responsible for identifying employment opportunities, building relationships with local employers, supporting trained participants in job placement, organizing employer engagement activities, tracking placement outcomes, and ensuring proper follow-up for employment retention. The role requires strong networking, communication, counseling, documentation, and reporting skills.
Key Responsibilities
Employer Engagement and Job Linkage
• Identify employment opportunities and build relationships with local employers, industries, factories, SMEs, private companies, service providers, local enterprises, and relevant job markets within the assigned upazila and nearby areas.
• Conduct regular employer visits to understand workforce demand, required skills, recruitment processes, salary ranges, and employment conditions.
• Prepare and maintain an updated database of job opportunities, employer contacts, sector-wise demand, available vacancies, and placement outcomes.
• Promote The Earth Society’s trained participants to employers and support fair employment linkage.
Job Placement Support and Career Counseling
• Support trained participants in finding suitable employment opportunities according to their skills, training background, interest, and location.
• Provide career counseling and job readiness support to beneficiaries, including CV preparation, interview preparation, workplace communication, punctuality, discipline, and professional attitude.
• Assist participants in preparing job applications and support them during interview scheduling, job tests, onboarding, and placement confirmation.
• Coordinate with SEB Trainers, TVET Trainers, Community Mobilizers, and Upazila teams to identify job-ready participants.
• Ensure special attention to women, youth, marginalized groups, and disadvantaged participants during placement support.
Job Fairs and Employer Engagement Activities
• Organize job fairs, networking events, employer engagement sessions, placement camps, career sessions, and recruitment events as required by the project.
• Coordinate with employers, training institutions, local government offices, business associations, chambers, and community stakeholders for successful placement events.
• Prepare participant lists, employer lists, invitation letters, event plans, attendance sheets, photographs, and event documentation.
• Follow up with employers and participants after job fairs and networking events to track recruitment progress and placement outcomes.
Market Assessment and Opportunity Mapping
• Conduct local labor market assessments to identify demand for skilled workers in different trades and sectors.
• Map employment opportunities in formal and informal sectors, including industries, local businesses, service centers, workshops, retail outlets, hospitality, agriculture-based enterprises, and other relevant sectors.
• Share market insights with project teams to align training, participant preparation, and placement strategies.
• Identify new and emerging employment opportunities for youth within the assigned upazila and surrounding areas.
Placement Tracking and Retention Follow-up
• Track job placements and follow up with employers and beneficiaries to ensure employment retention.
• Monitor placed participants’ workplace adjustment, salary status, job continuation, challenges, and satisfaction.
• Identify reasons for job dropout, absenteeism, or workplace challenges and support practical solutions in coordination with the project team.
• Collect and preserve placement evidence, such as appointment letters, employer confirmation, salary information, workplace photographs, participant feedback, and employment verification documents.
• Document employment success stories, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement.
Documentation and Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of employer visits, job opportunities, participant referrals, interview schedules, placement confirmations, employment status, and retention tracking.
• Maintain a database of job opportunities and placement outcomes.
• Prepare monthly reports on employment activities, placement progress, employer engagement, retention status, challenges, and outcomes.
• Ensure timely submission of accurate placement data to the supervisor and project management.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy while handling participant and employer information.
Coordination and Stakeholder Communication
• Coordinate with Upazila Manager, Cluster Coordinator, Trainers, Community Mobilizers, Enterprise Development Officer, and other project staff for participant referral and placement planning.
• Maintain communication with local government offices, chambers, business associations, training institutions, employers, entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders.
• Represent The Earth Society professionally in employer meetings, job fairs, coordination meetings, community events, and stakeholder consultations.
