Job Context:
∎ Association of Voluntary Actions for Society (AVAS) has been working in Bangladesh since 1998, with a vision of "Environment friendly, gender sensitive, fair and self dependent plural society" in Bangladesh. AVAS is currently implementing development and humanitarian projects in Barishal Division. AVAS is looking for a Union Facilitator for its "Logistics support and capacity building for humanitarian actors helping vulnerable populations of Barishal District in Bangladesh" funded by CDCS and Handicap International-Humanity & Inclusion (HI) project. Union Facilitator will contribute to the project mandate in where s/he is based. The Union Facilitator will be responsible for the implementation this project activities and reporting.
∎ Line Manager : Upazila Coordinator
∎ Type of Contract: Contractual
∎ Duration of the Contract: August 2023 to May 2024
∎ Job Location: Unian Level at Barishal Sadar or Mehendigonj Upazila of Barishal District.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support Upazila coordinator to conduct community Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (VCA), contingency plan development and disaster preparedness activities at community level.
∎ Work with Union Disaster Management Committee (UDMC).
∎ Conduct union level community awareness on inclusive early warning system or messages
∎ Support to Upazila coordinator to ensure inclusive WASH and shelter repair
∎ Implement activities and action plan in Union Level.
∎ Facilitate different project events.
∎ Regular reporting.
∎ Communication with the community and local stakeholders.
∎ Attend to skill development initiatives.
∎ Implement of humanitarian Activities.
∎ Develop Action plan and implement accordingly.
∎ Follow all direction of Upazila Coordinators, Finance person and AVAS Management.
∎ Assist and support to qualitative and timely financial Management
∎ Assist project monitoring, specifically activity progress indicators and the expected outcomes.
∎ Assist project evaluations when require.
∎ Comply accountability mechanisms.
∎ Document project learning.
∎ Participate coordination meetings.
∎ Maintain a healthy environment in the office and community.
∎ Comply all standard policy procedures.
∎ Assist to function CRM process in the project area.
∎ Ensure safeguarding mechanism in community level.
∎ Communicate with the local Administration, project partners, authorities, and stakeholders when relevant.
∎ Perform emergency preparedness initiatives, and effective humanitarian response.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 20 years
∎ Previous experience working in development sector is preferable.
∎ Knowledge of disability and development issues in Bangladesh.
∎ Have the capacity to maintain close relationships with partners, stakeholders, and clients.
∎ Excellent communication skills.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and in a multicultural team environment.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 18000 - 21000 (Monthly)
∎ Salary will be determined based on experience, qualification and budget availability.
Festival bonus will be paid prorate based according to the project allocation and AVAS Policy.
