The Association of Voluntary Actions for Society (AVAS), working in Bangladesh since 1998 with the vision of building an "environment-friendly, gender-sensitive, fair, and self-reliant pluralistic society," is set to launch a new initiative in partnership with Plan International Bangladesh. The project titled "Durbar: Girls-Led Climate Solutions" was launched in August 2025 in Charfeshan Upazila under Bhola district.
"DURBAR: Girls-Led Climate Solutions" project, implemented by the Association of Voluntary Actions for Society (AVAS), aims to empower adolescent girls and youth in Char Manika Union, Bhola, one of Bangladesh’s most climate-vulnerable coastal areas. Through integrated interventions in climate change education, health, sexual and reproductive rights and green economic opportunities, the project will build community resilience and promote youth leadership. Special focus is given to ensuring the participation of girls, marginalized groups and persons with disabilities. The initiative leverages AVAS’s strong local presence, partnerships with government and community stakeholders and experience in gender-transformative programming.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
This position is accountable to-
Maintenance of bill/vouchers of the program
Maintenance of petty cash and bank transactions
Advance management·
Reaching and maintaining agreement for office rental and office security
Procurement and store management and reporting including preparing a potential list of the vendors involving the procurement committee as per policy of the organization and donor compliance
Prepare procurement plan as per DIP of the project and having input from the senior staff of AVAS
Vehicle management and reporting, maintaining total list of vehicles (Motorcycles, bicycles etc.) including renewal date of the documents of the vehicles getting and budgetary control including providing necessary input for budget preparation/ revision and control over expenses as per budget
Follow VAT & Tax policies
Establish and maintain liaison/coordination with the senior staff of the project
Documentation and reporting
Any other tasks assigned by the superior
