Experience:
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Agriculture from any reputed university.
Higher academic qualifications in Agriculture or related disciplines will be considered an added advantage.
Minimum 06 years of professional experience in agriculture, livestock, food security, or rural development projects.
Candidates having practical experience in implementing PKSF-supported agriculture projects will be given preference.
Experience in coordinating with government departments, development partners, and relevant stakeholders will be highly valued.
Sound knowledge of agriculture, nutrition, livestock, and climate-resilient farming practices.
Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet-based reporting systems.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
Willingness to travel extensively to project areas.
National Development Programme (NDP) is a national level, non-government, non-profit development organization established in 1992, dedicated to improving livelihoods, promoting human rights, gender equality, sustainable development, and inclusive growth throughout Bangladesh. NDP implements wide-ranging programs in education, health, agriculture, housing, and microfinance in collaboration with partners including Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and various national & international development stakeholders.
Job Summary: National Development Programme (NDP) is seeking a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Agriculture Officer under the Special Programme Development (Agriculture). The incumbent will be responsible for planning, implementing, supervising, and monitoring agriculture, food security, nutrition, and livelihood-related interventions at the field level. The position requires close coordination with project staff, government departments, donor agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of project activities and achievement of project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and ensure implementation of monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans.
Monitor, supervise, and report progress of field-level project activities.
Provide technical and managerial supervision to project staff.
Assess training needs, prepare training schedules, and oversee training implementation.
Supervise food security, nutrition, and social awareness activities under the project.
Oversee technical support interventions including quality seed distribution, vaccination, deworming, grant-based demonstrations, advisory services, and homestead vegetable gardening.
Facilitate demonstration activities related to agriculture, livestock, products, and services and ensure their scaling-up and sustainability.
Organize training sessions and field days to disseminate successful farming practices and technologies among project participants.
Maintain effective coordination and communication with government agencies, private organizations, donor agencies, and other stakeholders for successful project implementation.
Prepare periodic reports and maintain project documentation as required.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and directives of NDP management.
Perform any other duties assigned by the higher authority.
