  • Knowledge in community development, ability to work under timeline, strong partnership development skills, facilitating participatory training, conducting the workshop, brainstorming sessions, focus group discussions, simulation, seminars, meetings, strong interpersonal skills, team-building capacity, problem-solving skills.

  • Good writing and speaking skills in English and Bangla.

  • Must have computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SPSS.

  • At least two (3) years of experience to drive Motorcycle and have valid motorcycle driving license.



Responsibilities & Context:

Breaking the Silence is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 05037, Date: 17 September 2000) and NGOAB (Registration No. 1642, Date: 20 May 2001). The organization works to establish child rights, prevent child abuse and child sexual abuse, prevent child marriage, accelerate child-friendly good governance, improve the quality of education at the primary and pre-primary level, prevent violence against women, empowering children and women. The organization is going to implement a project named ‘Strengthening Community level Child Protection Mechanisms to Protect Children and End Child Labor in Gazipur. The project will be implemented by the support of ‘Save the Children in Bangladesh’ and joint financing support by ‘Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ and Save the Children Japan. The project focuses on strengthening community-based child protection systems, improving awareness, establishing community structures, and enhancing referral and coordination mechanisms to prevent and respond to child labour and other child protection issues. BTS is going to recruit the ‘Project Officers’ for the mentioned project and the position’s desk office at Gazipur City Corporation.

Job Purpose:

The Project Officer is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of project activities at the field level, ensuring timely delivery, quality execution, and community engagement in line with approved plans, donor requirements, and organisational standards. S/he will work closely with community structures, project staff, and stakeholders to facilitate awareness, strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms, and support referral and coordination processes aimed at preventing child labour and promoting child protection.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

The Project Officer is the responsible for Child Protection including supervising and supporting the quality implementation of activities related to community-based child protection in the project area. He or she is responsible for managing or leading on activities with children groups, Community Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs) and other community people under the supervision of the respective line managers.

 Project Implementation & Execution: The Project Officers are responsible for implementing project activities in assigned working areas in line with approved work plans, timelines, and organizational standards. They supports the organization and facilitation of awareness sessions, community meetings, and campaigns on child protection and child labour prevention. The role also includes assisting in the establishment and effective functioning of Community Children Groups and Community-Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs), as well as supporting baseline, endline, and other field-level assessments to ensure quality and timely implementation of all interventions.

 Community Engagement & Mobilization: The Project Officers maintains regular interaction with children, adolescents, parents, caregivers, and community leaders to promote child rights and raise awareness on the risks of child labour and importance of education. They facilitates meaningful participation of vulnerable and marginalized groups, including girls and children with disabilities, and encourages community engagement in protection initiatives and behaviour change activities at the local level.

 Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination: The Projecr Officers maintaining coordination with key local stakeholders, including the Department of Social Services (DSS), educational institutions, health facilities, local service providers, and community leaders. The Project Officers supports the organization and facilitation of coordination meetings and community dialogues, strengthening linkage and collaboration between community structures and service providers to improve access to child protection services.

 Team Support & Coordination: The Project Officers works closely with Community Mobilizers to guide and support field-level implementation of activities and ensures effective coordination among project team members. They regularly communicates with the Project Manager and other relevant staff to maintain alignment with project goals and contributes to team planning, review, and learning processes.

 Monitoring, Field Visit & Reporting: The Project Officers support the Project Manager and MEAL Officer conducts regular field visits to monitor the progress and quality of project implementation and ensures that activities are carried out as planned. They collects and maintains accurate data on activities and beneficiaries, supports documentation of case studies, best practices, and lessons learned, and provides timely inputs for monthly, quarterly, and donor reports. The role also includes close coordination with the MEAL Officer to ensure data accuracy and proper reporting.

 Referral & Case Support: The Project Officers identifies children at risk of protection concerns during community engagement and facilitates their referral through established referral pathways to appropriate services. They follow up on referred cases to ensure service delivery and works in coordination with the Case Management Officer for handling complex or high-risk cases.

 Advocacy & Networking: The Project Officers supports community-level advocacy initiatives by organizing awareness campaigns, day observations, and community events related to child protection and child labour prevention. They contributes to sharing field-level insights, community feedback, and project outcomes to strengthen advocacy efforts and engagement with stakeholders.

 Safeguarding & Compliance: The Project Officers ensures strict adherence to child safeguarding policies, code of conduct, and organizational compliance requirements in all project activities. They maintains confidentiality, promotes ethical practices, and promptly reports any safeguarding concerns through appropriate channels to ensure the safety and well-being of children and communities.

 Others: The Project Officers performs any other duties assigned by the Project Manager or organizational management to ensure smooth implementation of the project.

 Full-time

Tenure of Services Contract:

 3 (Three) months probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, based on the performance of the staff and recommendation from the supervisor, the post may be continued till the project’s lifetime.

Job Other Benifits:
    • Gross: Taka 52,800.00 (Fifty Two Thousand Eight Hundred ) Per Month

    • 2 days weekend

    • Bonus (One month equivalent salary)

    • 5% salary deduction from Basic salary for depositing BTS Staff welfare fund.

    • Office time, Annual Leave, Increment & other facilities will be applicable as per ‘Recruitment and Human Resource Management Policy’ of Breaking the Silence.
