As the public healthcare system strengthens, BRAC role has strategically evolved to be a technical assistance partner, supporting the Government of Bangladesh’s mission to achieve Universal Health Coverage, ensuring everyone receives the care they need.

  • Assist in the day-to-day functioning of the NCD corner, ensuring efficient service delivery and patient care and assisting with patient queue management to ensure smooth service flow.

  • Closely work with the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer on health education and patient management issues.

  • Provide individualized lifestyle modification counseling to patients both in the NCD corner and in the waiting area, focusing on behavior change to manage and prevent NCDs.

  • Assist nurses and hospital staff with automation processes and troubleshooting to improve operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with various tiers of personnel from the program and community aimed at reducing the number of lost-to-follow-up patients.

  • Proactively engage with patients who miss appointments to encourage regular check-ups and follow-up visits.

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge in health education and NCD care as well as stay informed about the latest developments in NCD prevention and management.

  • Ensure effective coordination and communication within the programme as well as with other programmes of BRAC and outside BRAC.

  • Submit periodic reports on assigned tasks; carry out other tasks assigned by supervisors as required by the programme.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
