  • Able to work under pressure and willing to frequent travel to 2 wards in Gazipur City Corportation.

  • Knowledge in community development, ability to work under timeline, strong partnership development skills, facilitating participatory training, conducting the workshop, brainstorming sessions, focus group discussions, simulation, seminars, meetings, strong interpersonal skills, team-building capacity, problem-solving skills.

  • Good writing and speaking skills

  • Must have computer skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience to drive Motorcycle and have valid motorcycle driving license will given preferable.



Responsibilities & Context:

Breaking the Silence is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 05037, Date: 17 September 2000) and NGOAB (Registration No. 1642, Date: 20 May 2001). The organization works to establish child rights, prevent child abuse and child sexual abuse, prevent child marriage, accelerate child-friendly good governance, improve the quality of education at the primary and pre-primary level, prevent violence against women, empowering children and women. The organization is going to implement a project named ‘Strengthening community level child protection mechanisms to protect children and end child labor in Gazipur’. The project will be implemented by the support of ‘Save the Children in Bangladesh’ and joint financing support by ‘Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ and Save the Children Japan. BTS is going to recruit a ‘Community Mobilizer’ for the mentioned project.

Job Purpose:

The Community Mobilizer is responsible for engaging with children, adolescents, families, and community members to support the effective implementation of project activities at the grassroots level. S/he facilitates community awareness, promotes child protection practices, and strengthens community-based child protection mechanisms by supporting group formation, local engagement, and referral processes. The role ensures that vulnerable children are identified and linked to appropriate services, while maintaining close coordination with project staff and upholding safeguarding and ethical standards throughout implementation.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

 Community Identification & Household Engagement: The Community Mobilizer is responsible for conducting regular household visits within the assigned communities to identify children and adolescents at risk of child labour, abuse, neglect, or other protection concerns. S/he develops and maintains strong relationships with children, parents, caregivers, and community members to ensure effective outreach, trust-building, and understanding of community dynamics.

 Community Engagement & Awareness Raising: The Community Mobilizer organizes and facilitates awareness sessions, courtyard meetings, and community dialogues with children, parents, caregivers, and local leaders on child rights, child protection, risks of child labour, and access to services. S/he ensures that key protection messages are communicated clearly and encourages active participation of community members in promoting safe and protective environments for children.

 Formation & Support of Community Structures: The Community Mobilizer supports the identification and formation of Community Children Groups and assists in the functioning of Community-Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs). S/he facilitates regular meetings, encourages participation, and supports members to identify local child protection issues and take appropriate actions at the community level.

 Support to Case Identification & Referral: The Community Mobilizer identifies children at risk through community interactions and supports initial documentation and referral of cases through the approved referral pathway. S/he works closely with the Project Officer and Case Management Officer to ensure that identified cases are reported, referred, and followed up appropriately, without directly managing cases.

 Community-Level Coordination & Networking: The Community Mobilizer builds and maintains relationships with local stakeholders, including community leaders, teachers, CSOs, and service providers, to strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms. S/he supports coordination between community members and relevant actors to improve access to services and reinforce referral systems.

 Community Monitoring & Feedback: The Community Mobilizer maintains an understanding of community-level protection trends, vulnerabilities, and social dynamics, and contributes to monitoring processes through collecting information, community feedback, and observations. S/he supports identifying emerging risks and sharing field-level insights with the project team to inform program adaptation.

 Documentation & Reporting Support: The Community Mobilizer maintains records of activities, attendance, and community interactions, and supports the collection of case stories, success stories, and field-level information. S/he provides regular updates to the Project Officer and contributes to project reporting and documentation processes.

 Safeguarding & Ethical Practice: The Community Mobilizer ensures that all program activities adhere to child safeguarding policies, confidentiality protocols, and ethical standards. S/he ensures safe handling of sensitive information and immediately reports any safeguarding concerns following established procedures.

 Emergency Response & Other Duties: The Community Mobilizer will be able and willing to respond to natural disasters or emergency situations, when needed and any other task assigned by Supervisor and /or Senior Management of BTS.

Employment Status:

 Full-time

Tenure of Services Contract:

 3 (Three) Months probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, based on the performance of the staff and recommendation from the supervisor, the post may be continued till the project’s lifetime.

Working Area: 12 Wards in Gazipur City Corporation



Job Other Benifits:
    • Gross: Taka 25,000.00 (Twenty Five Thousand Approx. ) Per Month

    • 2 days weekend

    • Bonus (One month equivalent salary)

    • 5% salary deduction from Basic salary for depositing BTS Staff welfare fund.

    • Office time, Annual Leave, Increment & other facilities will be applicable as per ‘Recruitment and Human Resource Management Policy’ of Breaking the Silence.
