  • Candidate experience with market facilitation in handicraft, tailoring and dressmaking products will be preferred.
  • Terms and Conditions
  • Working Hours:
  • The Market Linkage Facilitator are expected to perform day basis (8 hours)
  • The total working days will not exceed 20 days per month.
  • Compensation:
  • Payments will be made in accordance with Bangladesh Government regulations and YPSA’s internal policies.
  • The rate is 3000 BDT per day. Monthly payments will be based on the approved attendance sheet.
  • Attendance and Leave:
  • Each Market Linkage Facilitator must complete attendance register with all the necessary information, have it authorized by the Upazila Manager, and submit it to the YPSA Admin team for processing.
  • Leave without pay will be allowed, payment will be calculated as per working days.
  • Absence without 48 hours prior notice and without a submitted report may result in disciplinary action.
  • Supervision:
  • The Upazila Manager will serve as the direct supervisor for Market Linkage Facilitator and will oversee performance, attendance, and task completion.
  • Code of Conduct:
  • Facilitators must uphold The YPSA organization policy.
  • Professional behavior, respect for community norms, and adherence to YPSA’s code of conduct, safeguarding policies, ethical and compliances are mandatory.
  • Transport Support:
  • The Market Linkage Facilitator will maintain a movement register and submit actual local transport bills related to travel, including transportation of raw materials, sample items, dresses, or handicraft products.

Responsibilities & Context:

Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org>, established in 1985 (International Youth Year) is an organization for sustainable development working in Dhaka Division, Sylhet Division, Chattogram Division including Chittagong Hill Tracts, Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char. Currently, YPSA is working with a total of 15 million (estimated) disadvantaged and vulnerable people. YPSA has been implementing a project titled “Multi-sector Recovery and Empowerment Support for crises affected communities in Cox’s Bazar Activity.” since 2020. The project is technical supported by International Rescue Committee (IRC) and funded by US DoS.

Job Title: Market Linkage Facilitator (Tailoring, Dressmaking and Handicraft Value Chain)

No. of Positions: 2

Duration: 3 Months or 60 Days (Possibility to extend based on project’s need)

Job location: Cox’s Bazar (Chakaria, Ramu and Ukhiya)

Objectives & Context:

Vulnerable women and youth are being supported through the Economic and Social Empowerment (EA$E) program approach to recover and strengthen income generation activities through non-firm activities i.e. handicrafts, tailoring and Dreas making, pottery business etc. in Ukhiya, Chakariya, and Ramu Upazila of Cox’s Bazar. Despite strong potential, women and youth face constraints in technical skills, designing, finishing, quality assurance and access to structured markets. The YPSA has been facilitating the interventions combining hands-on and market-oriented training, business recovery support with market linkage support to address the gaps of skills in designing, cutting, stitching, embroidery, handicraft production, finishing, and product diversification, alongside business competencies such as costing, pricing and marketing. Engagement with buyers, inputs suppliers, and connecting with digital platforms for specific products will enhance product quality, market readiness and income opportunities for the women producers.

A Market Linkage Facilitator will be connecting producers with buyers, facilitating order generation, coordinating production planning, and ensuring efficient flow from order to delivery and payment. The role will also support engagement of the producers with buyers and suppliers to ensure product quality, innovation, and access to appropriate raw materials. In addition, the facilitator will facilitate to form women led producer groups to enable collective production, bulk order management, and price negotiation capacity within the market systems. Through integrated skills development, entrepreneurship promotion, and market facilitation, the women producers will be able to recover and enhance their income generation activities and increase market participation of vulnerable women in Cox’s bazar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess products, skills and capacity of the women producers

  • Identify and engage buyers; facilitate B2B interactions and negotiate orders following the product, skills and capacity of the producers

  • Capture and record order details (product type, specifications, sample collection, quantity, price, and delivery schedule)

  • Translate orders into production plans, including costing, materials, and timelines

  • Form and coordinate producer groups based on skills and capacity

  • Allocate tasks across production stages (cutting, stitching, finishing, quality control)

  • Track production progress to ensure adherence to targets and deadlines

  • Develop designer/cutting masters for design refinement, pattern development, and precision cutting

  • Manage sample development, approval processes, and alignment with final outputs

  • Arrange timely and cost-efficient sourcing of fabrics and accessories through reliable suppliers

  • Supervise finishing, packaging, and delivery while resolving production or quality issues

  • Facilitate clear payment arrangements and ensure timely transactions

  • Attend fairs by coordination with Livelihoods and Skill Development Sectors (LSDs) in Cox’s Bazar

  • Maintain systematic records of buyers, orders, production status, and payments; provide regular reports,

  • Prepare progress reports, lessons learned, and success stories.
