Additional Requirements:
  • Previous experience of working with Milk Chilling Center will get preference.

  • S/he must have good experience in livestock and agriculture value chain development, supply chain, school feeding project

  • Clear understanding about the interest of project stakeholders including project and donor priorities

  • Must understand the technical, social, and other constraints in the development field.

  • Able and willing to ride on a motorcycle (with valid driving license) for field visits and travel by local transports

  • Presentable, smart, energetic, proactive, hardworking, self-motivated, positive attitude, committed team player, good analytical skills and dynamic.

  • Strong in computer office programs like MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, internet use etc.

  • Ability to adapt and work with all culture, gender, religion, race, nationality and age

  • Ability and willingness to travel and stay in the field

  • Good communication skill in Bengali and English



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context: NDP invites applications for the post of the Technical Officer (Milk for School) under the project titled “NDP-BD Beaf and Goat Value Chain Signature Program” implemented in Ullapara, Sirajganj of Bangladesh as a cooperating partner of Heifer International, Bangladesh to achieve one of the major objectives of the project of feeding milk to the school children.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Service mapping of milk from producer to milk chilling center.

  • Enlist new potential dairy farmers in the CoOp for delivering milk in the MCC as well as increase milk production and productivity of the farmers delivering and willing to deliver milk to the MCC and share the farmers’ information including their milk production capacity with GDFL and Heifer.

  • Jointly prepare plan with CoOp and GDFL to increase milk collection of the MCC and execute accordingly.

  • Organizeand facilitate community level different training, orientation and vaccination and dairy health check upcampaigns which will increase milk production and productivity as well as hygiene milk collection.

  • Increase fodder production and develop fodder enterprises as per DIP that enhances milk production and productivity.

  • Prepare list of nominations of dairy farmers for access to finance to increase their farm following the guideline, organize the participants for account opening, loan processing and orientation as well as follow up timely repayment.

  • Collect daily, weekly and monthly yogurt demand from schools and prepare and submit weekly and monthly yogurt requisition as per demand of the schools.

  • Receive yogurt from Grameen Danone following daily/weekly/monthly demand ensuring their quality – hygiene, manufacturing and expiration date, as well as preserve and distribute them in a quality and hygienic manner.

  • Arrange delivery of yogurt to the schools and follow up their distribution and utilization.

  • Collect daily yogurt delivery and utilization report from schools, daily milk delivery quantity to the MCC and entry the data to survey CTO.

  • Coordinate with PC-NDP, BMMSSL, Regional Heifer team and Milk Chilling Center focal personto make the project successful.

  • Provide all sorts of data, photo and other information as per demand of donor and Heifer International

  • Organize distribution of different learning materials, project materials and education materials and provide data with photo to Heifer International

  • Organize quarterly progress review and coordination meeting with SMC, CMC, Govt. Officials, GDFL and Heifer International BD

  • Follow up active involvement of CoOp representatives in the processing of milk in MCC and distribution of yogurt in schools and engage them in a way that they could manage the MCC themselves in a certain time.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports and monthly work plan.

  • Any other activities required by the supervisor for the benefit of organization and the project.
