•At least 4 years’ experience including 3 years’ experience on implementation of humanitarian response and recovery project in the thematic areas of economic empowerment along with the gender transformation at host community of Ukhiya and Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar.

•Proven experience in working with women, marginalized groups or in gender focused projects

•Strong facilitation, communication, and networking skills.

•Knowledge of market systems, value chains, and local economic development.

•Proficiency in MS Office and basic project documentation.

•Willingness to travel frequently within the project area.

•Commitment to gender equality and social inclusion principles.

•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

•Willing to drive Motorcycle and should have a valid driving license.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

ESDO is implementing Nari Shakti, Samaz Shakti (NSSS) Project with the assistance of Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation. The objective of the project is to establish a gender-transformative enabling environment that empowers women and marginalized groups to foster safer, inclusive, and resilient communities in the vulnerable contexts of Cox’s Bazar. The project focuses on protecting women and girls aged 10–35 in both host and refugee communities by enhancing resilience, reducing disaster vulnerabilities and creating alternative livelihood opportunities. This project has been implementing in 5 unions of Ukhyia and Teknaf upazila. S/he responsible to ensure that project activities are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining high quality and impact. S/he is responsible for network/linkage/collaboration with union/upazila level network and likeminded organization, coordination & liaison with Upazila level GoB Administration and service providers.

Job Responsibilities:

Economic empowerment of exposed women in Host Community

Under this component, the Technical Officer is responsible for implementation of economic empowerment interventions including skill development for young women in age group 18-35 years in host community settings. S/he should understand and learn the working context in Cox’s Bazar context and gender roles and social intersectional factors and support project to adapt implementation of project. The specific roles and responsibilities under this component are as follows but not exclusive:

• Selection of the most appropriate target women entrepreneurs from the age 18-35 in selected unions/community and arrange participatory consultation with selected women to identify the most relevant, suitable business (economic activity) option where they would like to take a lead based on their capacity, appetite, risks, opportunities and aspirations through engagement of LSP in host community.

• Design/adaptation training modules on entrepreneurship, business planning, business development, financial management and technical topics and capacity building of LSP in host community settings.

• Provide tailor-made appropriate entrepreneurial and skill training and mentoring support to individual women entrepreneurs through engagement of LSPs.

• Mentor, guide and support target women through LSPs to implement their income generating activities and establishing market extension.

• Build capacity and strengthen community networks for women to lead the maintenance of safe space, and proper utilization of safe space for market lead economic activities and linkage with market.

• Conduct need/gap assessment of LSPs to develop their capacity and mobilize them to play role as private sector actor to provide support to producers.

• Support project participants to establish functional linkage with different market actor (both input & output), relevant service providers.

• Support to entrepreneurs to showcase their product through organizing trade fair and participate in trade fair.

• Support to entrepreneurs, LSPs and FSs to enhance their product as well as market.

• Support entrepreneurs to access with different Financial Services.

• Facilitate to establish and main include mechanisms for tracking and addressing gendered barriers in economic activities and market linkage.

• Support to Field Supervisor (FS) to strengthen capacity to them so that they can play positive role to provide necessary support to LSP, entrepreneur

• Develop tools for stakeholders mapping for financial services and coordinate with relevant stakeholders

• Support the development of micro and small enterprises (MSEs), including market linkage facilitation.

• Coordinate with local government, private sector actors, and financial institutions to ensure access to services and resources for women entrepreneurs.

• Provide ongoing mentoring and technical assistance to MSEs.

Monitoring, Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of activities, progress and participants.

• Collect and report success stories, lessons learned and best practices.

• Support project evaluations, assessments, and audits as required.

• Ensure timely submission of different reports and updates to the Project Field Coordinator

Others:

• Support to Field Supervisor (FS) to identify and select Safe Space, Change Champion, Women Leaders

• Create scope to link between economic development and social protection

Any others project/organizational related task assigns by the Supervisor

Skills:

This position combines economic activities/livelihoods and humanitarian response operation. Humanitarian response operation, skills on linking and representing in different coordination platforms, sound knowledge and skills on livelihoods and gender justice and social inclusion in humanitarian settings/context. Have report writing skills including knowledge on MEAL, skills on conflict resolution and negotiation and visibility.

Authority:

Report to the Project Coordinator of ESDO NSSS Project and indirectly supervise the Field Supervisor.

Working condition:

This is a Upazila based position and should frequently spend time for extensive field visits.
