Experience:

• At least 6 years

• MA/M.Com//M.Sc./Masters of Agriculture

• At least 6 years

• Age 35 to 40 years

• Minimum 6-8 years of work experience with at least 2 years of experience in a Micro Finance Institution.

• S/he must have good experience in livestock and agriculture value chain development.

• Clear understanding about the interest of project stakeholders, including project and donor priorities.

• Must understand the technical, social, and other constraints in the development field.

• Strong proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and internet usage.

• Ability to adapt and work with diverse cultures, genders, religions, races, nationalities, and ages.

• Good communication skill in Bengali and English.

Job Context: National Development Programme (NDP) invites applications as a cooperating partner of Heifer International, Bangladesh, to implement the "BD Beaf and Goat Value Chain Signature Program" in Ullapara, Sirajganj, Bangladesh, to facilitate marketing and create a brand of the meat.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance to CF of “BD Beef and Goat Value Chain Signature Project” for smoothly running project activities.

• Build capacity of the field team particularly with community facilitators (CFS), Cooperative staff, and participants for better production skill, cooperative business development skill, strengthening of  cooperative management skills

• Identify the technical issues of production, business development, and marketing of vegetable, poultry and livestock product and provide support to CF at field level.

• Monitor and support cooperative micro finance management.

• Ensure practice of improved production technology for livestock and poultry i.e, housing, feeding and management practices.

• Develop enterprises of goat, dairy and cattle fattening at SHG level.

• Ensure technical support to the project participants for reducing livestock mortality and strengthening CAVE services at community level.

• Popularize the folder production, artificial insemination and cattle fattening at SHG and community level.

• Preserve update records on asset multiplication, mortality, number of enterprises.

• Ensure monthly Self Help Group and Cooperative Management Committee’s meeting with documentation

• Assist to prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports timely and write success story.

• Visit households and ensure households level animal production.

• Support to organize animal health camp; ensure vaccination, de-worming and other technical services timely for improving livestock management.

• Assist Heifer program team in the field during field visit and share information freely, organize field visit of external visitor when necessary.

• Build strong relationship and maintain liaison with Upazila level stakeholders particularly UNO, Cooperative Office, Livestock office, Women and Child Affairs Office, Agriculture Office, UP, local level elites and develop and manage partnership with private sectors and market actors.

• Facilitate need based technical training and workshop with different stakeholders and producers’ organization.

• Perform necessary instruction and additional responsibilities required from donors and supervisor.
