Educational Requirements:
∎ Master's degree in Child or Youth related field e.g. Education/ Social Work/ Community etc. is preferable. For experienced candidate, such condition can be relaxed.

Job Context:
∎ Work Location: IRC-Bangladesh, Ukhiya Office with regular support to host community program
∎ Reporting to: Direct report to Senior Manager Child Protection & Youth Development and matrix relation with Child Protection Coordinator
∎ Department: Child Protection
∎ Expected Start Date: At Earliest
∎ Contract length: Till 30th June 2022 (with possibility of extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical Quality:

∎ Support the quality operationalization of the IRC's youth development interventions in Bangladesh, ensuring that needs and priorities for programming and standards are in line with the context, needs, and gaps on the ground.
∎ Support technical team in developing strategy, guideline, SoP related to youth development
∎ Conduct needs assessment, develop and implement a capacity building plan and provide day to day mentoring support, formal and on-job training support to partner staff.
∎ Work closely with Protection teams including Women's Protection and Empowerment and Protection & Rules of Law team to ensure successful implementation of integrated programming in camp and host communities.
∎ Ensure the youth development prevention and response activities are linked with appropriate reporting and referral mechanisms.
∎ Work closely with young people, understand their needs, facilitate regular consultation with them and identify programming idea for youth development.
∎ Support implementation of life skills, leadership development and business skills development program in camp and host communities
∎ Work closely with partner in implementing skill development activities in host communities.
∎ Ensure integration and inclusion in program delivery, children and young people from different age, sex and ability are equally addressed in program implementation.
∎ Program Implementation:

∎ Work closely with partners to achieve project results and take support from Sr. Manager CP&YD and Sr. Manager Protection to implement field intervention through partner.
∎ Regular monitoring of the program and providing necessary supervision support to the team. Monitoring findings are recorded and shared at different platform (within IRC and partner) for the improvement of program delivery.
∎ Facilitate training, orientation, workshop with partner to deliver youth development curriculum to the and regular follow up and refreshers to ensure proper knowledge and skills in the implementation team.
∎ Coordination with Protection and Women Protection and Empowerment (WPE) program to ensure the projects are bringing comprehensive impact in the life of the clients.
∎ Regularly review information and documentation practices to ensure adolescent's information is gathered, stored and shared safely. Ensure confidentiality and that data protection and information-sharing protocols are respected in line with IRC internal standards and inter-agency standards.
∎ Periodically review training modules and materials, prepare context specific adaptation plan to implement youth programming in emergency situation.
∎ Ensure safeguarding policy is understood and followed in program delivery.
∎ Partner Management:

∎ Work closely with partner, monitor progress and provide regular support for quality implementation of the program.
∎ Identify capacity gap, provide handholding support and develop capacity strengthen plan. Coordinate with technical team for implementation of the plan and monitor progress.
∎ Attend regular meeting and sharing session to develop and monitor implementation plan, track expenditure and compliance and coordinate with another department where necessary.
∎ Review progress report and data, provide regular feedback and guidance for improvement.
∎ Coordination & Representation:

∎ Dedicatedly participate and contribute to Youth Technical Working Group and build productive relationships with those actors to better understand the context, needs and priorities around youth development, and use this to inform or guide the next steps in the short- and longer-term advocacy, collaboration and cross-sector working
∎ Develop and maintain effective coordination and long-term relationships with external parties, representing IRC positions, promoting long-term strategy and resolving problems/conflicts.
∎ Other Duties:

∎ Consistently and dedicatedly monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to IRC management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC program.
∎ Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs

Additional Requirements:
∎ Excellent professional track record with at least 3 years' experience in working with national/ international organizations on technical position for youth rights or development.
∎ Proven experience in working on youth development program in development sector.
∎ Experience in effectively dealing with government officials, international staff, donor agencies, and other NGO's;
∎ Prior experience working with Rohingya communities will be an advantage.
∎ Experience in working with local partner, especially in camp and host communities.
∎ Experience in module development, including staff capacity development and team building initiatives.
∎ Ability to work with a broad spectrum of people.
∎ Strong knowledge and understanding of international child protection and youth policy and practice issues.
∎ Strong ability to provide critical feedback on youth development issues in Bangladesh.
∎ Strong facilitation and supervison skills
∎ Good writing and analytical skills, including ability to communicate technical matters to a range of audiences.
∎ Competent in Windows, MS office programs, emails and relevant database
∎ Interpersonal Qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
∎ Good coping strategies in stressful and emergency situation, calmness is a requirement
∎ Strong communication skills in written and verbal English
