Responsibilities & Context:

1. Sustainability Strategy & Execution
• Develop and implement short-term and long-term sustainability roadmap aligned with corporate objectives.
• Drive ESG initiatives to meet buyer compliance standards and global market expectations.
• Monitor sustainability KPIs and deliver periodic performance dashboards.
• Identify improvement opportunities for resource efficiency and responsible sourcing.

2. Environmental Management
• Lead programs on energy saving, carbon footprint reduction, water conservation, waste minimization, and circularity.
• Ensure effective operation of ETP/WTP/STP systems as per local regulations.
• Manage chemical handling compliance aligned with ZDHC / MRSL / RSL standards.
• Support renewable energy initiatives such as solar projects and green factory transformation.
• Coordinate environmental audits and regulatory inspections.

3. Social Compliance & Worker Welfare
• Collaborate with HR and Compliance teams to improve worker wellbeing, health & safety, gender equality, and employee engagement.
• Promote ethical labor practices as per Bangladesh Labor Law and international codes of conduct.
• Lead awareness programs on sustainability culture among employees.

4. Certifications & Buyer Requirements
• Manage sustainability certifications such as HIGG FEM, FSLM, LEED, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OEKO-TEX, GOTS / Organic Standards (if applicable).
• Liaise with buyers, auditors, and certification bodies.
• Ensure timely closure of CAP (Corrective Action Plans).

5. Reporting & Stakeholder Management
• Prepare annual sustainability reports, ESG disclosures, and buyer scorecards.
• Maintain accurate data on utilities, emissions, waste, safety, and compliance metrics.
• Present sustainability progress to management and external stakeholders.

6. Supply Chain Sustainability
• Evaluate vendors and suppliers on sustainability performance.
• Promote traceability, ethical sourcing, and responsible procurement practices.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, or relevant discipline.

Experience Requirements
• 8+ years of experience in sustainability, compliance, EHS, or ESG within Bangladesh RMG / Textile sector.
• Hands-on experience with buyer audits and global sustainability frameworks.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of RMG Environmental Compliance requirements.
• Expertise in energy, water, waste, carbon accounting, and ETP management.
• Familiarity with HIGG Index, ZDHC, LEED, ISO systems.
• Advanced Excel, Power BI, reporting analytics preferred.

Soft Skills
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.
• Strategic planning and execution mindset.
• Excellent communication in Bangla and English.
