Additional Requirements:
  • For Sr. Executive: 3–5 years of relevant experience in VAT (preferably in RMG sector).

  • For Executive: 1–2 years of relevant experience in VAT (preferably in RMG sector).

  • Strong knowledge of VAT & SD Act 2012 and Rules 2016.

  • Practical experience with the NBR VAT Online Portal (Mushak system).

  • Excellent analytical and documentation skills.

  • Strong coordination ability with internal teams and regulatory authorities.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel .



Responsibilities & Context:

1. VAT Compliance & Return Submission

  • Prepare, review, and submit monthly VAT returns (Mushak-9.1) accurately and timely through the NBR VAT Online Portal.

  • Maintain and reconcile all relevant Mushak forms as per VAT & SD Act 2012 and Rules 2016, including:

    • Mushak 6.1 – Purchase Register

    • Mushak 6.2 – Sales Register

    • Mushak 6.3 – Input-Output Coefficient Declaration

    • Mushak 6.6 – Credit/Debit Note

    • Mushak 6.10 – Valuable Purchase/Sale Information (above BDT 2 lakh)

  • Ensure proper calculation of input and output VAT, supplementary duty (if applicable), and compliance with any changes in VAT rates or exemptions.

2. VAT Registration & BIN Management

  • Ensure timely registration, renewal, and amendment of Business Identification Number (BIN) for all business units.

  • Verify BIN validity of vendors and customers before processing transactions.

  • Update business information (e.g., address, nature of business) in the NBR system when required.

3. VAT Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and organized VAT-related documents (purchase/sales invoices, Mushak forms, challans, etc.) for audit and inspection purposes.

  • Reconcile VAT ledgers with the general ledger and ensure records are retained both digitally and physically as per legal requirements.

4. Supplementary Duty (SD) & Transaction Review

  • Identify applicable products/services under Supplementary Duty and ensure proper calculation, documentation, and reporting.

  • Review all purchase and sales transactions to confirm accurate VAT rates, SD, and Mushak formatting.

5. Audit, Compliance & Regulatory Liaison

  • Coordinate with VAT Circle Offices, Divisional Offices, and NBR for audits, queries, and issue resolution.

  • Prepare and respond to VAT audit observations, show cause notices, and demand letters.

6. Internal Support & Process Improvement

  • Provide VAT-related guidance to procurement, finance, and sales teams to ensure compliance across departments.

  • Support process automation and identify areas for VAT efficiency and input tax optimization.

  • Assist management during financial audits with VAT reconciliations and supporting document
