Additional Requirements:
  • HSE&S related certifications from reputed institutions (e.g., NEBOSH / IOSH and BFSCD) will be an added advantage.

  • Must have the knowledge to organize the installation and maintenance of panel board systems, fire alarms, smoke detectors, and addressable and fire hydrant systems.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Bengali.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Responsibility

  • Develop a plant-level Health, Safety, Environmental & Social (HSE&S) manual, related procedures, guidelines, forms and checklists following the MGI EHS policy/guidelines and assist plant management in its implementation.

  • Work as the "Secretary" of the plant "Safety Committee" and ensure this committee is functioning effectively to meet MGI requirements and relevant sections of the Bangladesh Labour Rules 2015.

  • Establish a system to address any "Unsafe practices" that are proactively identified and preventative measures are recommended to plant management.

  • Perform and maintain "Risk Assessments" proactively to prevent HSE&S incidents.

  • Conduct training for all staff identified in the "Risk Assessments".

  • Ensure a system to report and investigate all HSE&S incidents and near misses to prevent recurrences.

  • Liaise with the central HSE&S team and ensure adherence to the group level HSE&S initiatives.

  • Perform and prepare reports for periodic HSE&S inspections, audits and monitoring programs to meet internal and external requirements.

  • Coordinate a system with the central fire department to ensure fire safety for workplace areas and ensure all fire safety equipment in an establishment is always in good shape.

  • Establish and manage a system to inspect the fire equipment such as Smoke detectors, fire hydrants, fire doors, firefighting apparatus, etc., regularly.

  • Coordinate a system with the central fire department to conduct regular fire drills and emergency evacuation drills to inform employees of any emergency incidents.

  • Identify probable fire hazard areas and make recommendations to take preventive measures on an urgent basis. Maintain liaison with the fire service authority and prepare all safety standards, policies, reports, and documentation regarding fire safety issues, including fire evacuation for all employees.

  • Establish a system to train all workers/staff/employees on fire safety, protection, fighting and First Aid on a demonstration basis to make the mission successful.

  • Monitor all operational processes and procedures using a HSE&S compliance management system to ensure that the company complies with all legal regulations and ethical standards.

  • Train and educate staff on HSE&S topics by performing a Training Need Analysis (TNA) so that they are informed of any legal changes and updates to compliance guidelines and also maintain training records.

  • Maintain grievance documentation, hospitality record, and treatment data.
