• This position requires extensive expertise in web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, etc.), experience with CMS platforms tailored to publishing, and knowledge of scholarly communication standards and tools. The ideal candidate will be innovative, detail-oriented, and passionate about advancing open-access publishing through cutting-edge technology.

• At least 5 years of professional experience in web development, with a focus on both front-end and back-end technologies.

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, Node.js, or other back-end technologies.

• Expertise in building and maintaining large-scale websites, particularly high-traffic academic publishing websites.

• Strong experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and API development (RESTful services).

• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.Expertise in performance optimization, server-side rendering, and responsive design.

• Experience in integrating online payment gateways such as Stripe, PayPal, or Razorpay.

• Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, or custom CMS).

• Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).Experience with web analytics tools to measure and improve website performance.

• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and a passion for creating high-quality, user-centric designs.

• The candidate must possess strong expertise in back-end operations and tasks.

• A strong commitment to the job and the organization is essential. Please note that this is a fully office-based position, requiring six working days per week (with Friday as the designated weekly holiday).

As part of our expansion, we are hiring a Senior Web Developer for our Bangladesh office, where you will play a critical role in building world-class academic publishing websites that serve scholars and researchers across the globe.

We aim to develop platforms with state-of-the-art features similar to industry leaders such as mdpi.com, frontiersin.org, link.springer.com, tandfonline.com, and more.

Working hours: 9 am - 7 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

As a senior website developer for our organization, you will play a critical role in creating and maintaining a robust digital platform that supports scholarly communication and open-access publishing.

Your responsibilities will include:

Website Development and Maintenance

• Design, develop, and maintain dynamic, user-friendly, and responsive websites (for example, frontiersin.org, mdpi.com, tandfonline.com, link.springer.com) for our publishing platform and associated academic resources.

Content Management System (CMS) Implementation

• Develop, customize, and manage a scalable CMS to handle journal articles, books, author guidelines, editorial boards, and related publishing content.

Training and Collaboration

• Train in-house staff on web design, development, and content management to enhance internal technical capabilities.

Integration with Scholarly Publishing Tools

• Integrate tools and platforms relevant to academic publishing, such as DOI assignment systems, indexing services, and citation management tools.

User Experience (UX) Optimization

• Develop features to enhance user engagement, including article metrics, advanced search options, and intuitive navigation.

Secure Payment Gateway

• Integrate a reliable, secure payment gateway for transactions (PayPal, credit cards, etc.).

• Festival Bonus: 2

he position includes a six-month probationary period, during which the selected employee will receive a monthly salary of BDT 85,000. Upon successful completion of the probation with highly satisfactory performance, the role will be made permanent, and the monthly salary will be increased to BDT 100,000.

The selected employee will be entitled to two festival bonuses, each equivalent to one month`s basic salary. Note that the basic salary constitutes half of the total monthly salary.
