∎ Master of Science (MSc) in Fisheries
∎ Master’s degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, or a related field.

∎ Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in training design and management within development projects, preferably in aquaculture sectors.
∎ Demonstrated expertise in delivering impactful training programs on sustainable aquaculture practices and value-chain management.
∎ Experience working in USAID-funded projects where training was a significant component.
∎ Experience of working with members of the coastal community fish farmers, traders, and other value-chain stakeholders in the broad area of aquaculture sector.
∎ Experience of working in projects which were implemented in close collaboration with the Government of Bangladesh, especially the Department of Fisheries.
∎ Strong skills in developing training modules, manuals, materials, and culturally tailored curricula.
∎ Proficiency in using digital tools and e-learning platforms to expand training reach.
∎ Knowledge of MEL frameworks for evaluating training outcomes.
∎ Excellent communication skills in Bangla and English.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments of the target participants and identify their training needs as well as identify areas for focused awareness programs.
∎ Develop and adapt training modules, materials, and curricula on sustainable aquaculture practices, good aquaculture practices (GAP), livelihoods, value chain, and market-driven approaches in alignment with Activity’s objectives and best practices.
∎ Develop training materials which, among others, will be inclusive, gender-sensitive, and culturally appropriate.
∎ Provide overall technical guidance and mentorship to field teams during training implementation.
∎ Organize and facilitate interactive and practical training sessions, workshops, and demonstrations on aquaculture techniques, feed and seed management, and sustainable practices.
∎ Conduct Training of Trainers (ToT) to enhance the delivery capacity of Activity staff, partner organizations, and local extension workers.
∎ Support stakeholders, including government agencies and private sector actors, in adopting climate-smart and sustainable aquaculture practices.
∎ Coordinate with government agencies (e.g., DoF, BFRI, and DAE), NGOs, and private sector actors to align training interventions with national strategies.
∎ Foster public-private partnerships to introduce innovative technologies and practices in the aquaculture sector.
∎ Collaborate with the MEL team to assess the impact of training programs and gather feedback for improvements.
∎ Prepare detailed training reports, case studies, and success stories to showcase outcomes and promote knowledge sharing.
∎ Ensure training programs with active participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups.
∎ Integrate gender and social inclusion principles into all training events.
∎ Collect, check, submit and preserve all required financial documents related to training, workshops, and awareness programs according to the scheduled timeline.
∎ Assist the Senior Policy, Regulatory and Export Adviser in preparing and submitting reports, program planning, budget preparation and necessary documentation on time.
∎ Bangladesh Shrimp and Fish Foundation (BSFF) is recruiting for a Senior Training Specialist for the Feed the Future Bangladesh Sustainable Aquaculture Activity. The Activity aims to enhance inclusive and sustainable aquaculture sector growth in Bangladesh through a market system approach to improve rural household income and nutrition.
∎ The Senior Training Specialist will be expected to lead the design, development, and implementation of capacity-building initiatives under the Feed the Future Bangladesh Sustainable Aquaculture Activity. This role involves conducting training needs assessments, creating innovative and culturally relevant training materials, and delivering training sessions for various stakeholders, including hatchery operators, smallholder farmers, processors, and field staff. The specialist will promote best practices in sustainable aquaculture and ensure that training programs are inclusive, impactful, and aligned with the Activity goals.
