Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Provide individual and group-based psychosocial support sessions to affected individuals, especially emotionally vulnerable women and adolescent girls.
∎ Develop care and safety plans with clients based on their immediate and long-term psychosocial needs.
∎ Refer complex cases to psychiatrists or mental health professionals as needed.
∎ Conduct psychological assessments and maintain confidential case documentation.
∎ Design monthly and weekly PSS activity schedules based on PSS framework.
∎ Facilitate community-based recreational and psychosocial group activities.
∎ Identify individuals in need of special support through coordination with case management and outreach teams.
∎ Conduct awareness sessions and support groups for persons with specific needs, including trauma survivors, GBV survivors, and individuals with disabilities.
∎ Facilitate training sessions on Psychological First Aid (PFA), GBV guiding principles, and basic psychosocial care for staff and volunteers.
∎ Coordinate with case management, protection, and health teams for integrated service delivery.
∎ Maintain proper records, generate timely reports, and contribute to donor and internal reporting.
∎ Actively engage in safeguarding compliance and ensure all psychosocial interventions meet ethical and protection standards.
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
∎ The Senior Project Officer, PSS Counsellor will be responsible for delivering individual and group-based psychosocial support (PSS) services to vulnerable populations, particularly women and adolescents, following the 4-tier PSS intervention framework. The role involves structured PSS planning, referrals, capacity-building, and community-based psychosocial activities to address mental health needs and emotional well-being of beneficiaries in the humanitarian context.
∎ Direct Psychosocial Support Services
