• Postgraduate in social science / anthropology /women & gender studies/development studies from a reputed university in Bangladesh.

• At least 15 years working experiences with proven skill and competencies in working with national non-governmental organizations in senior positionson mainstreaming gender and diversity within organizations and organizational projects and programmes. The candidate should have good knowledge and capacity on gender analysis and actions and development related to agroecology and climate justice. The candidate should lead the gender and diversity team within the organization having a strong knowledge of gender and diversity analysis and integrate gender responsive programme. Only experienced female candidates are requested to apply.

Other job requirements:

• Conduct gender analysis to identify gender justice specific challenges in addressing agroecology and climate justice.

• Facilitate staff members, civil society, media, gender based organization and community level training on agroecology and climate justice from the perspective of gender justice.

• Develop training modules and different kind of publications and policy brief on gender and climate justice.

• Initiate participatory research with updated gender lens and tools and policy advocacy on agroecology, climate justice and food sovereignty from gender justice perspectives.

• Demonstrate collaborating experience, and willingness to work jointly with a multi-disciplinary team.

• Good in communication and writing skills both in Bangla and English.

• Good in operating MS Word, Excel, Power Point etc.

Job Context

BARCIK (Bangladesh Resource Center for Indigenous Knowledge) is a non-governmental non-profitable development organization. A group of development practitioners, researchers and social workers established BARCIK in 1997. BARCIK has been working in the fields of environment, agroecology, climate justice and food sovereignty and development exploring the potentiality of indigenous knowledge with utmost commitment and purpose since its inception. BARCIK is looking for a well-qualified female candidate for the immediate appointment of Director (Gender) to be posted in Dhaka.

Job Nature: Full-time initially for 1 (one) year and opportunity to extend based on performance.

• The candidate shouldhave the will to stay in Dhaka with frequent field visit (minimum 50% times) to different upazillas in the working regions of BARCIK (Satkhira, Khulna, Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Manikganj, Mymensingh, Netrakona and Sunamganj). Candidate should have good knowledge on safe guarding (Child Protection, Gender & Anti sexual harassment). Only experienced candidates are requested to apply.

Other benefit:1 festival bonus equivalent to 1 month gross salary.
