Educational Requirements:
∎ Minimum Bachelor's Degree from any reputed university/Graduate in Textile Manufacturing or Apparel Merchandising or fashion Design preferable from a well reputed institution/ Educational background might be relax for any strong technical extra ordinary experienced person deserving candidate.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 8 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Independently manage research and product development, understand latest fashion trends and develop customer specific collections
∎ Very strong sources on fabrics and Factories mostly inditex, Mango, Tally weijl, Costco, C&A, Walmart, ALDI and large retailer buyer in the world.
∎ Have strong capacity to prepare the OCS by self after getting the Inquiries from buyer end and strong knowledge for working about Inditex, Costco, TW and Walmart, Aldi buyer with strong knowledge on current prices and target oriented on Buyer target prices.
∎ Very good knowledge about the CAD, Physical marker for each and every parts of jacket to ensure consumption perfectly by oneself.
∎ Ensure smooth communications with customers and suppliers on day to day merchandising activities and approvals
∎ Understand customer requirements and closely work with design team to manage the correct samples within timelines and quality
∎ Set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities
∎ Accomplish and oversee the merchandising cycle (File / Record keeping / Sampling / T&As / QA file making / Production follow ups / Shipment booking etc.)
∎ Prepare costing sheets with all the necessary breakdowns from factories
∎ Ensure all suppliers are using nominated sources for trims
∎ Provide monthly intelligence report to the business on actual and potential rises and falls in current cost factors
∎ Coordinate and monitor quality of the product through quality personnel
∎ Maintain Time and Action (T&A) plan and ensure on-time shipment for all orders
∎ Select and visit different fabric/textile mills, production, printing, washing factories and build long-term relationships for current and future orders
∎ Regularly evaluate factory performance and source & develop new factories as per requirements
∎ Recommend any changes to the products or process improvements, which can help make production friendlier for construction without changing the aesthetics of the garment
∎ Conduct production meetings with the factories and QA team as per the allocated time and follow up with the factories on the progress of the orders
∎ Engage in costing and price negotiation with customers and vendors
∎ Analyze customer progress report in terms of growth/shortcomings/product and price points, get customer feedback on inquiries and close the orders with clarity on cost/ margin
∎ Review new tech packs and developments to identify any critical points and provide the right details to the factory
∎ Ensure all customer requirements are met in production based on customer tech packs
∎ Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 8 years' merchandising experience in Outerwear (Jackets)
∎ Must have sound understanding of sample development process: Sewing, Seam Sealing, Down Calculation, CWS (Construction without sewing), Real down, Fake down, Padded and other heavy Outerwear Jackets
∎ Must have technical understanding of pattern, marker, and surface applications (e.g. heat transfer, embroideries, screen-printing etc.)
∎ Ideal candidate will have a very high degree of technical and commercial competence and should have in depth knowledge of costing, sourcing and understanding of the production process.
∎ Candidates having connections with buyers and suppliers within and outside Bangladesh will be an added advantage.
∎ Technical Job Requirements:
∎ Profound knowledge of Outerwear Jackets garment engineering and production processes is required
∎ Have sound knowledge of costing, fabrics and an excellent network of fabric, print, embroidery & trims suppliers
∎ Should be able to source and develop new products independently
∎ Should have a passion for product development, an eye for styles/details and fits.
∎ Should be able to handle MIS entries
∎ Must be capable to handle two/three buyers independently in tremendous pressure with aggressive marketing attitude
∎ Must have skills in examining and establishing proper merchandising operations and procedures
∎ Good understanding of core business aspects
∎ Should have ideas about effective communication for raw materials booking and delivery
∎ Additional Job Requirements:
∎ Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships and work as a team
∎ Should be well-groomed, smart and energetic
∎ Strong presentation and delivery skills
∎ Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English if anyone have good knowledge of Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish language will be given extra priority.
∎ IT proficiency - advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
∎ Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently
∎ Ability to multitask and remain organized, meet deadlines
