• Strong understanding of retail business to identify product opportunities and offer innovative design solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with partners in Buying, Production, and Design.
• Outstanding creative talent and taste level with the ability to recognize, forecast, and translate industry trend direction.
• Expert technical knowledge of product, raw materials, manufacturing techniques, and processes.
• In-depth knowledge of Denim techniques and processes.
• Strong knowledge of Denim fabrics and wash capabilities.

• Creating fresh, innovative and commercial designs for seasonal denim/non-denim collections.

• Selecting fabrics, washes, and finishes for the desired look.

• Developing new styles and trends in denim fashion.

• Conducting research on market trends and consumer preferences.

• Creating technical sketches and specifications for production.

• Ensuring the quality and fit of the final denim products.

• Work closely with other category designers to cross pollinate ideas.

• Outfitting, assortment balance and maintain seasonal design direction.

• Prepare for and participate in all relevant product meetings.

• Translate trends, concepts, and direction for creation of brand specific denim apparel .
