Experience:
Database administrator with significant time supporting production and mission-critical systems.
Experience managing large-scale enterprise databases; ERP/HRMS, supply chain, aviation, or fintech domains are preferred.
Deep expertise in at least two of the following: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.
Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch).
Strong skills in performance tuning, query optimization, execution plan analysis, and index strategy.
Hands-on experience with high availability, clustering, replication, and failover configurations.
Proven experience with backup/recovery tooling and disaster recovery drills.
Experience with AWS managed database services (RDS, Aurora) and cloud migration.
Strong scripting ability (SQL, PL/SQL, Bash, Python) for automation and maintenance.
Understanding of database security, compliance, and audit requirements.
Experience with database monitoring tools and change management within CI/CD pipelines.
Relevant certifications (Oracle OCP, Microsoft Certified: Azure/SQL, AWS Database Specialty) are a plus.
Role Overview
US-Bangla Airlines is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own the design, performance, availability, and security of the databases powering our enterprise aviation systems. The role is critical to data integrity and uptime across HRMS, flight operations, aircraft engineering (MRO), catering, supply chain, and fleet management platforms.
Job Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain production database environments (relational and NoSQL) for high availability and performance.
Own database architecture, schema design, indexing strategy, partitioning, and normalization decisions in collaboration with the software architect.
Perform query optimization, performance tuning, and capacity planning for large, high-transaction datasets.
Implement and test backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies; guarantee agreed RPO/RTO targets.
Manage database security: access control, encryption at rest and in transit, auditing, and data masking for sensitive HR and operational data.
Monitor database health, configure alerting, and lead incident response for database-related outages.
Manage database migrations, version upgrades, and schema change management within CI/CD workflows.
Support data integration, ETL processes, reporting, and analytics workloads.
Establish database standards, documentation, and governance across development teams.
Operate and optimize cloud databases on AWS (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB), including cost management.
