Job Context:

1. The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a not for profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities. CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports. 
2. CDD is one of the most renowned organizations in the field of disability-inclusive development. CDD’s work in Bangladesh is supported by international and national donor agencies/development partners. CDD offers an inclusive, amicable, and respectable work environment. 
3. The Ramon Magsaysay Award (Asian version of the Noble prize) has been awarded to its Executive Director in 2010. In 2018, CDD was recognized by the Government of Bangladesh as one of the best organizations working on disability and development issues. 
4. CDD is planning to recruit one ‘Psychosocial Counselor’ for the project titled “Provision of integrated comprehensive support to persons with disabilities and other vulnerable people while strengthening the capacities of humanitarian actors through inclusive humanitarian action and coordination” which will be implemented with the support of Handicap International – Humanity and Inclusion (HI). The duration of the project is till July 2025. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct assessments and provide evidence-based mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) interventions for the people of concern individually and in groups through the Home-Based Rehabilitation (HBR) and Rehabilitation Camp approach at the clients` homes and various spots (e.g., Hospital Union Parishad, Schools, Community Clinics) in the unions of Ramu & Chakaria.
2. Design and Conduct awareness-raising sessions on various mental health issues for the community and related stakeholders in the Host Community.
3. Provide caregivers training on continuing home exercise and related activities.
4. Refer the clients to appropriate internal and external facilities and services, including medical services.
5. Input daily data with Survey CTO, Google Forms, Google Drive, etc.
6. Gather and analyze the unmet need data to advocate at related government and non-government offices to ensure the availability of mainstream services for people with disabilities.
7. Support to produce reports (e.g., case studies, lesson learned reports, client`s progress report) on short notice.
8. Maintain beneficiaries register book and other relevant documentation.
9. Any other relevant task/s, as delegated by the line manager.
