Responsibilities & Context:

Context of the Job :

The primary responsibility of the position holder is to implement policies and procedures concerning child safeguarding and protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA). Lead the project as the PSEA and Child Safeguarding Focal, advocate for the integration of PSEA and Child Safeguarding principles into every aspect of the education project, and set up training sessions for staff, volunteers, and community members.

Job Responsibilities:

Policy Development and Implementation:

• Develop, review, and implement policies and procedures related to Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Safeguarding.

• Ensure alignment with international standards, local laws, organizational policies & donor guidelines.

Training and Capacity Building:

• Conduct training sessions for staff, volunteers and community members on PSEA and Child Safeguarding principles and practices.

• Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure a thorough understanding and adherence to safeguarding policies.

Reporting and Investigation:

• Establish and manage a confidential reporting mechanism for incidents related to PSEA and Child Safeguarding.

• Conduct prompt and thorough investigations into reported incidents, ensuring a victim-centered and rights-based approach.

• Collaborate with relevant authorities and organizations to address legal and protective measures.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

• Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of PSEA and Child Safeguarding initiatives.

• Regularly review and update safeguarding policies based on lessons learned and emerging best practices.

Community Engagement:

• Engage with the Rohingya community to raise awareness about PSEA and Child Safeguarding.

• Facilitate community-based mechanisms for reporting and addressing safeguarding concerns.

Coordination with Stakeholders:

• Collaborate with other organizations, NGOs and government agencies to share information and coordinate efforts in the protection of children and vulnerable populations.

• Participate in relevant working groups and forums dedicated to safeguarding and protection.

Advocacy and Awareness:

• Advocate for the integration of PSEA and Child Safeguarding principles into all aspects of the education project.

• Raise awareness among stakeholders about the importance of safeguarding in the context of the Rohingya response.

Policy Compliance & Safeguarding:

• Advocate for the integration & upholding Core humanitarian Standard (CHS) among team & stakeholders.

• Raise awareness among team & stakeholders about the importance of policy compliance of organization, government & donor and safeguarding in the context of the Rohingya response.

• Safeguarding and PSEA: To meet the program's objectives for safeguarding and PSEA implementation, make sure team members are protected from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. serve as a major resource for help, direction, and knowledge on safeguarding & Child protection for developing a safe workplace. To ensure that safeguarding standards are used in every course of action, team members should practice, advocate, and embrace safeguarding policy concerns.
