∎ JOB SUMMARY: The PGI Officer will be responsible for steering the development of PGI priorities across the sectors in PMO (Population Movement Operation, Cox’s Bazar) Specially with wash sector with the technical support of the PGI Coordinator and direct under supervision of wash Program manager.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Facilitate the program and operation staffs to define activities and implementation of gender mainstreaming activities in program components
∎ Support BDRCS to ensure that all activities under the PMO in Cox’s Bazar are implemented in accordance with Movement and BDRCS policies and guidelines relevant to Protection, Gender and Inclusion (PGI), including IFRC Minimum Standards for Protection, Gender and Inclusion in Emergencies, international standards and best practices with BDRCS PSEA policy.
∎ Provide support to mainstream protection, gender and inclusion, including regularly conducting gender and diversity assessments to identify and address the different needs, protection risks and capacities of women and men of all ages and backgrounds, in accordance with IFRC Minimum Standards for Protection, Gender and Inclusion in Emergencies.
∎ Provide support to implement Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) prevention, mitigation and response activities, including establish and/or strengthen referral pathways for SGBV survivors, ensuring access to multi-sector response services (health, WASH, DRR, psychosocial support etc.)
∎ Identify, support and coordinate with existing child protection mechanism in the host and guest communities and establish referral pathways.
∎ Coordinate with external stakeholders, represent BDRCS at different coordination meetings, seek opportunities for collaborations and partnerships to further strengthen BDRCS capacity on gender and diversity, child protection, protection, sexual- and gender-based violence, anti-trafficking and disability inclusion.
∎ Provide support to build capacity of BDRCS staff and volunteers, including designing and delivering training on prevention and response to SGBV, PSEA and child protection, consistent with a 'do no harm' approach.
∎ Continuously seek and obtain information and knowledge on existing protection structures in camps such as procedures followed by authorities and other actors, as well as RCRC Movement activities, standards, trainings and policy and share this with colleagues.
∎ Conduct regular field visits to BDRCS Wash site, distribution sites, areas of operation, centres, and other areas where BDRCS conducts activities.
∎ Provide verbal and written feedback on a daily basis to direct line manager; assist in writing regular narrative and quantitative reports when requested.
∎ Liaise with relevant public authorities and service providers to foster effective collaboration and encourage a conducive protection environment for affected populations and encourage national interest and ownership in protection of beneficiaries.
∎ Develop existing tools to ensure up to date and technically sound mechanisms are in place for the protection mainstreaming program
∎ Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and mentorship to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
∎ Ensure that ethical and sound data collection and information management is implemented for appropriate data analysis, planning, evaluation, and advocacy, working closely with the IM, CEA, and Communications team.
∎ Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by line manager/coordinator
∎ Conduct regular monitoring and supportive supervision visits, of wash field activities in the reflection of PGI aspect.
∎ Prepared weekly plans for all activities to be carried out in the field
∎ Work with volunteers to facilitate DAPS approaches, PSEA within their existing wash programming.
∎ Organizes and facilitates community and parent and caregivers’ meetings
∎ Roll out systems for referrals of GBV, PSEA and specialized services
∎ Collect, summarize, and manage data on all wash related PGI mainstreaming activities, activities based on the agreed reporting schedule.

Additional Requirements:
∎ A minimum of 3 years of practical field experience of implementing community-based protection mainstreaming interventions in Humanitarian aspect.
∎ Basic training in gender and inclusion mainstreaming/PSEA/ protection/ community mobilization/ SGBV
∎ Fluent in oral and written English and Bangla (Chittagongian dialect preferred)
∎ Good communication and facilitation skills.
∎ Ability to work and stay at field level.
∎ A team player, flexible and innovative
∎ Must be computer literate.
∎ Age Limit: 45 years (may be relaxed for potential candidates)
