∎ We serve people most vulnerable to information disorder (including mis- and disinformation and information poverty), division, and distrust, focusing on people underserved by public interest media and at the frontline of global challenges, risks and crises. We have a particular affinity for and track record of working with young people as agents of change; they will continue to be a central focus. BBC Media Action works with partners around the world to provide impartial, impactful, trustworthy media to people in need so that they can make informed choices to transform their lives.
∎ The Training Assistant will work closely with the Media Development Manager and other colleagues from project, research and training teams to design and deliver effective training and outreach materials and activities with diversified target groups. The Training Assistant will assist the Media Development Manager in communication and coordination with government stakeholders, NGOs/INGOs, and media practitioners in outreach and training activities. As part of the outreach activities, the s/he will cover BBC Media Action’s climate resilience and adaptation, media development, governance portfolio. The successful candidate will also need to work with BBC Media Action’s existing partners to ensure that the outputs are effectively disseminated to the communities.
∎ The position is based in Dhaka but requires extensive travel to the project locations across the country as necessary. Normal office hours will generally apply, but the nature of the role means that a flexible approach to working hours will be required.
