Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Develop and design youth-centric protection programs, ensuring alignment with project objectives and addressing the unique needs of young individuals
∎ Coordinate and facilitate engaging protection-focused activities within the Youth Corner, encouraging participation and active involvement
∎ Conduct assessments to identify the specific protection needs and concerns of youth within the community, informing program design and content
∎ Collaborate with local youth leaders and organizations to ensure the inclusion of diverse perspectives and preferences in program planning
∎ Provide training and capacity-building sessions to empower youth with protection knowledge, life skills, and resilience-building strategies
∎ Monitor and evaluate the impact of youth protection initiatives, collecting feedback and adjusting programs based on the evolving needs of the youth community
∎ Engage with the wider community to promote awareness of youth protection issues and foster community support for Youth Corner activities
∎ Prepare regular reports on the progress, challenges, and outcomes of the Youth Corner activities, ensuring compliance with reporting standards
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
∎ This role aims to engage and empower young individuals in protection-related activities, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
