  • Master’s degree in Development studies/ Social science/ Management/ Civil Engineering/ Public health/Urban planning, or related fields.

Additional Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in WASH or urban development projects, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of donor compliance, municipal governance, and participatory planning processes.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, capable of writing a good-quality report in both English and Bangla.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 


Responsibilities & Context:

Job Purpose:

The Project Manager will be part of the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Project interventions in urban contexts, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organisational policies. The role involves close coordination with municipalities, stakeholders, and project teams to deliver high-quality, climate-resilient WASH services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop effective implementation plans through participatory processes involving project staff, communities, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyse local urban WASH context and incorporate findings into implementation planning that should include resource planning
  • Implement project activities in compliance with donor strategies, policies, and standards.
  • Monitor project budget and share updates with management and donor organisation
  • Ensure detailed budget breakdown for all activities and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Facilitate active participation of local communities and municipal authorities in planning and implementation.
  • Maintain regular communication with municipal authorities and update on project progress.
  • Coordinate with project participants, community leaders, local government representatives, and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate private sector engagement in coordination with the municipality and donor organisation.
  • Ensure advocacy and influencing efforts to build ownership of municipal authorities for project interventions.
  • Organise and conduct training and orientation sessions for municipal officials, workers, youth volunteers, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist project staff in preparing participatory implementation plans and selecting participants for workshops.
  • Ensure progress tracking as per plan and provide constructive feedback to field staff.
  • Prepare and submit qualitative and quantitative progress reports as per project requirements.
  • Guide technical staff in data verification (mPMIS/mWater) and documentation to ensure data quality.
  • Collect and document good practices and success stories.
  • Organise project coordination meetings and represent the project in orientations, trainings, workshops, and seminars.
  • Facilitate visits from stakeholders, including national/international delegates, government officials, and private operators.
  • Coordinate with donor agencies, municipal authorities, and relevant government offices.
  • Ensure adequate supervision and performance assessment of all project staff in line with organisational policies.
