Experience in managing field-based projects and supervising project teams.

Disaster Risk Management Programme (DRMP) with an aim to strengthen community resilience through disaster risk reduction and preparedness along with emergency response and recovery actions. DRMP works to strengthen resilience across the most vulnerable communities and provides holistic humanitarian support to the people affected by disasters and crises in Bangladesh.
About the Project: Support for the Flash Flood-Affected People in Chattogram Division, under Disaster Risk Management Programme (DRMP).
Project Duration: Six (6) months
Job Location: Any Upazila within the Chattogram Division
Job Purpose: The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and effective implementation of the flash flood response project. The position will ensure the achievement of project goals, outcomes, and deliverables through effective planning, monitoring, and reporting of project progress. The role will maintain close coordination with key stakeholders, including local government institutions, District Relief and Rehabilitation Officers (DRROs), Project Implementation Officers (PIOs), humanitarian actors, local leaders, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and timely response.The Project Manager will also ensure that all project activities are implemented in accordance with the approved log frame, implementation plan, donor requirements, quality standards, and allocated budget. The position will identify risks, facilitate timely decision-making, and ensure accountability and learning throughout the project cycle.
Job Description:
Plan, manage, coordinate, and oversee project implementation to ensure completion of activities as per approved design, log frame, and implementation plan.
Develop detailed activity-wise budgets and implementation plans, and ensure effective utilization of project resources.
Monitor field-level progress through regular visits, identify risks, and take timely corrective actions for successful project delivery.
Provide technical guidance to ensure quality implementation aligned with DRR practices, humanitarian standards, and project objectives.
Supervise, guide, and support project team members, including identifying capacity-building needs and facilitating necessary training and coaching.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including government institutions, humanitarian actors, local leaders, and CBOs, to achieve project outcomes.
Prepare and submit timely project progress, financial, and management reports and provide strategic updates to senior management.
Ensure integration of environmental sustainability, resilience, and climate considerations throughout project implementation.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
