Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Understanding of referral pathways for mental health and disability services is preferred.

The Program Officer will oversee the logistical, procurement, and supply chain operations for a project supporting Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). This role involves coordinating with government bodies, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), and community leaders to ensure effective service delivery and referrals for beneficiaries. Additionally, the Program Officer will support the Mental Health Program for PWDs and their caregivers by providing psychosocial support, facilitating individual and group counseling sessions using lay counseling approaches, and promoting community awareness on mental health, inclusion, and well-being.
A. Logistics, Procurement, and Supply Chain Management
Field Logistics: Manage and coordinate all field-related logistics, including the timely procurement, safe storage, and preparation of assistive aids and other project materials required for PWD support.
Supply Chain: Oversee the complete project supply chain, including inventory of general office supplies and specialized materials, ensuring availability and optimal cost-efficiency.
Distribution: Plan, execute, and supervise the distribution of assistive aids and materials, ensuring strict adherence to organizational policies, donor requirements, and maintaining meticulous documentation (e.g., beneficiary lists, sign-off sheets)
B. Stakeholder Management and Partnerships
External Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with all key stakeholders, including relevant Government bodies, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), local Community Leaders, faith leaders, and other partnering organizations.
Partnership Management: Actively manage and ensure the effective functioning of partnerships (e.g., PWD OPD, partner organizations) to leverage external support and resources for beneficiaries.
C. Mental Health Support with PWD
Facilitate group sessions for persons with disabilities, caregivers, and peer support groups to promote psychosocial well-being and inclusion.
Identify PWDs and individuals with mental health needs through community engagement, household visits, and outreach activities.
Organize and conduct community awareness sessions on mental health, stress management, and inclusion.
Collaborate with peer groups, volunteers, and community stakeholders to strengthen participation and support networks.
Provide one-to-one lay counseling for clients with mild mental health issues using empathy, active listening, and basic counseling skills.
Screen mental health clients, conduct home visits, and provide ongoing follow-up support to ensure continuous psychosocial care.
Referral Pathway: Facilitate necessary referrals for beneficiaries to appropriate specialized external services (e.g., health, specialized care, government schemes, OPD clinics) based on their diagnosed needs.
Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, follow-ups, and referrals.
D. Documentation and Reporting
Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate, comprehensive, and timely reports on logistical operations, distribution activities, stakeholder engagement, and beneficiary support numbers as required by the Project Manager.
Compliance: Maintain a robust filing and documentation system for all procurement, distribution, and partnership activities to ensure internal and external audit compliance.
E. Flexibility:
Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management, and adapt to changing project needs, priorities, or emergency situations to ensure smooth program implementation.
