Education:
    • Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Psychology/Psychology
    • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Clinical Psychology/Psychology
  • Bachelor/ Master’s Degree (MSc) Clinical Psychology/Psychology from any recognized and/or government approved public/private university is required.

Additional Requirements:
  • Age 18 to 45 years
  • Minimum 2 years of professional work experience in relevant sectors, preferably with national or international NGOs.
  • Familiarity with health-sector and MHPSS subsector policies, guidelines, rules, and regulations, particularly those relevant to the Rohingya camp context.
  • Previous work experience in the Rohingya camp context will be considered an added advantage. 
  • Strong time management, leadership, analytical, multitasking, facilitation, communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
  • Strong adaptability, teamwork, relationship-building, and change-management skills.
  • Good IT skills, with basic knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
  • Excellent skills in professional email communication and internet-based communication and information management.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in using the Survey CTO mobile application will be considered an asset.
  • Proven experience in development and/or humanitarian programme management, team management, and disability inclusion, preferably in development or humanitarian response contexts.


Responsibilities & Context:

 Job Context: CDD is planning to initiate the recruitment process for a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Officer under a project supported by an international donor. We have received soft approval for the project; however, the recruitment and appointment to this position will be subject to the final approval of the project by the funding agency.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide counselling and psychosocial support services to individuals, groups, and communities within the Rohingya camp through home-based rehabilitation (HBR) approaches, with the aim of promoting and improving mental health and psychosocial well-being.
  • Encourage community members to express and discuss their emotions, concerns, and personal experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Assess and provide appropriate support for issues such as substance use, ageing, bullying, anger management, intimate partner violence, career-related concerns, depression, interpersonal relationships, self-image, stress, and suicidal thoughts or behaviours, while ensuring appropriate safeguarding and referral mechanisms.
  • Support community members in identifying their needs and goals, developing action plans, and gaining insight into their concerns and available coping strategies.
  • Identify individuals requiring specialized mental health or other services and refer to psychologists, psychiatrists, health facilities, protection services, or other appropriate service providers, as necessary.
  • Apply a holistic, person-centered approach that considers both mental and physical well-being in providing mental health and psychosocial support.
  • Accurately enter and update service-related data using the prescribed data management systems/software, including Survey CTO, within the required timeframe.
  • Attend Cox’s Bazar MHPSS Working Group meetings as and when required.
  • Participate in sector and camp coordination meetings as required.
  • Regularly report to CDD management on relevant coordination, networking, and collaboration opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation related to service delivery, in accordance with organizational policies and data protection principles.
  • Responsibly use any data collection devices provided by the organization and maintain strict confidentiality of all collected data. Data must not be shared with any unauthorized person under any circumstances unless specifically authorized by the designated data authority.
  • Prepare regular and need-based reports on services provided, types of conditions addressed, referrals, and other relevant programme activities as and when required.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to volunteers in planning and organizing counselling sessions, awareness activities, and other relevant events.
  • Assist volunteers in preparing their work plans and regularly monitor progress against the agreed plans.
  • Perform any additional duties and responsibilities related to the project or programme as assigned by CDD management or the designated authority.

Professional Development

  • Identify areas for professional development and discuss with the Project Operations Manager and Senior MHPSS Officer to develop and implement an appropriate action plan for improving professional knowledge and skills.
  • Engage in self-directed learning and continuous professional development to enhance skills, knowledge, and competencies relevant to the position.
  • Proactively seek feedback, guidance, and support from supervisors and colleagues as necessary to improve performance, strengthen professional skills, and achieve agreed objectives.
  • Perform any other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned by the CDD authority.

 

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to CDD's Children and Adults at Risk Safeguarding policy, ensuring the safety and well-being of all project participants.
  • Promote a safe and secure environment for all participants and stakeholders of the project.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and follow the designated reporting procedures.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform any other responsibility/ special duty delegated by project and CDD management.
