  • Age At least 25 years
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience in designing and implementing community-based Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA), or sustainable livelihoods projects within coastal or climate-vulnerable regions of Bangladesh.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of participatory tools such as Community Risk Assessment (CRA) and Risk Reduction Action Plans (RRAP).

  • Familiarity with local government disaster management structures (UDMC/UzDMC) and national frameworks (NAP, Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100).

  • Proven background in climate-smart agriculture, ecosystem restoration, or nature-based solutions.

Soft Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent facilitation, training, and community mobilization skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities to work effectively with youth, local communities, and government officials.

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Bengali; local dialect proficiency for Barguna or Bhola is a distinct advantage.

  • Willingness to undertake extensive field travel within remote coastal and island communities

Intended Impact of the Project: Reduced climate and disaster-induced risks and losses for vulnerable communities through strengthened, locally led, ecosystem-based adaptation systems that enhance livelihood resilience, restore ecosystems, and improve the effectiveness of local governance and preparedness mechanisms.
The Technical Officer –CCA/DRR will lead the technical implementation, coordination, and field-level execution of climate change adaptation (CCA), disaster risk reduction (DRR), and ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) activities under the ECO-RESOLVE project. The incumbent will work closely with community platforms, local government bodies (UDMCs/UzDMCs), line departments (DAE, DLS, DoF, DDM, FSCD), and youth networks to drive resilient livelihoods, ecosystem restoration, and local risk governance across Barguna and Bhola.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community & Institutional Capacity Development (Outcome 1)

    • Facilitate the formation of union-level EbA Action Groups (EAGs) comprising 30 members and coordinate regular quarterly meetings.

    • Roll out training modules on EbA, participatory ecosystem monitoring, and Community EbA Scorecards.

    • Mobilize youth volunteers (aged 18–25) for disaster risk reduction and basic rescue training in partnership with the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).

    • Establish school-based MetClubs, conduct capacity-building sessions on EbA, and oversee school-based innovation grants and student learning activities.

    • Organize community-wide awareness platforms, including EbA Fairs, Field Days, street film shows, and cross-learning visits.

  • Climate-Resilient & Ecosystem-Based Livelihoods (Outcome 2)

    • Provide technical support for the rollout of integrated livelihood models, such as organic sack gardening, the 2FVD model (Fish–Fruit–Vegetable–Duck), vermi composting, and bio-pesticide production.

    • Coordinate foundational training and cash grant distributions for agricultural demonstration farmers in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE).

    • Promote resource-efficient, low-carbon technologies including zero-energy cooling units, bio-digesters, and household biochar production units.

    • Facilitate business skills training for local entrepreneurs and coordinate market linkage events.

    • Lead community-led afforestation initiatives (planting 7,000 saplings per union with fencing support).

  • Disaster Risk Governance & Planning (Outcome 3)

    • Facilitate Community Risk Assessments (CRA) and support the development and execution of Union Risk Reduction Action Plans (RRAPs) with Union Disaster Management Committees (UDMCs).

    • Strengthen multi-channel early warning dissemination systems (BAMIS, VMS, Bulk SMS) within target communities.

    • Coordinate regular review meetings with UDMCs and UzDMCs, and support seasonal EbA action planning sessions.

    • Assist in assessing and implementing the reconstruction/rehabilitation of affected cyclone shelters.



Job Other Benifits:
    • Monthly Consolidated Salary: 45,000/- as it is a short-term contractual position, so no other benefits are admissible.
