Education:

Bachelor’s degree in forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management (NRM), Environmental Engineering, Ecosystem Management, Climate Change and Environmental Studies, Watershed Management, Urban Planning.

Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or technical leadership role within Rohingya refugee camp settings.



Responsibilities & Context:

a) Technical Leadership, Design and Quality Assurance

  • Lead the technical planning, strategic direction, and overall implementation approach for plantation, reforestation, biological slope stabilization, environmental rehabilitation, ecosystem restoration, and other Nature-based Solutions (NbS) interventions.

  • Lead or oversee environmental, ecological, topographic, soil, hydrological, erosion, and slope stability assessments to support evidence-based intervention design and prioritization.

  • Develop, review, approve, and continuously improve technical designs, site plans, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), specifications, method statements, planting layouts, maintenance protocols, and technical guidelines.

  • Provide technical leadership on species selection, vegetation establishment, nursery development, watershed management, biodiversity enhancement, and ecological restoration approaches to maximize long-term sustainability and resilience.

  • Ensure appropriate integration of biological and bio-engineering measures with site development, drainage, and disaster risk reduction interventions where required.

  • Establish and enforce technical standards and quality assurance systems related to nursery operations, plantation establishment, slope protection, maintenance, environmental monitoring, and ecosystem restoration.

  • Conduct regular technical review missions and quality assurance assessments to ensure compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, environmental safeguards, donor requirements, and operational standards.

  • Analyze implementation challenges, environmental risks, technical gaps, and emerging issues and provide recommendations for corrective and adaptive management actions.

  • Provide technical inputs into procurement planning, specifications, quality control, acceptance criteria, and supplier evaluations related to environmental interventions.
