Purpose:

The position will provide overall leadership and management of the assigned WASH project, ensuring effective implementation, quality delivery, timely achievement of project objectives and efficient utilisation of resources within the approved budget and timeframe. The role will lead project planning, monitoring, quality control, financial and donor compliance, risk management, team supervision, and coordination with Government, donors, UN/INGO partners and other relevant stakeholders to ensure accountable and sustainable project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the assigned WASH project throughout the full project cycle, ensuring achievement of objectives, outputs and outcomes within the approved scope, timeline, quality standards and budget.

  • Lead the development, implementation and regular review of project work plans, implementation plans, M&E plans, procurement plans and operational processes to ensure timely and effective delivery.

  • Monitor project progress against targets, milestones, indicators and deliverables; identify gaps, risks, delays and bottlenecks and implement timely corrective and preventive actions.

  • Ensure quality and compliance of project interventions with approved proposals, designs, technical standards, donor requirements, BRAC policies, WASH sector standards and relevant Government guidelines.

  • Manage project finances and resources by monitoring budget utilisation, burn rate, expenditure and commitments; ensuring value for money, timely procurement and appropriate expenditure within the approved budget.

  • Lead the preparation, review and timely submission of quality project, donor and management reports, while ensuring systematic documentation, audit readiness and timely resolution of audit, compliance and monitoring findings.

  • Lead project monitoring, evaluation, assessments and learning, ensuring quality data collection and analysis and use of evidence, findings and lessons learned to improve programme performance and future planning.

  • Lead, supervise and develop the project team through effective delegation, performance management, coaching, mentoring, capacity building and coordination with relevant BRAC support functions.

  • Maintain effective coordination and partnerships with Government authorities, donors, UN agencies, WASH sector actors, NGOs/INGOs, partners and communities, ensuring alignment with sector strategies, humanitarian standards and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP).

  • Lead project risk management, innovation, knowledge management, transition and close-out processes, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures, documentation of good practices and lessons learned, completion of deliverables, and full financial and operational closure.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
