Education:
The Program Officer (Media & Communication) should hold at least a Master’s degree in Social Sciences/Development Studies/Communication/relevant discipline from a reputed university.
S/he must have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the development sector, including 2 years of experience in policy-level advocacy and communication.
The candidate should be well conversant, with strong oral and written communication skills.
Age limit may be considered as per Candidate’s experience.

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a non-government development organization founded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer, and Sufi with the aim of social and spiritual development of entire human community. DAM has been contributing for the betterment of the disadvantaged population through operating 35 institutions and also 8 sectors of development. Health Sector is one of the core sectors of DAM which has also been operating 8 institutions and 15 projects.
DAM Health Sector is going to recruit a competent and self-motivated individual for the position of Program Officer (Media and Communication) of "Advocacy campaign project for front of package labeling (FOPL) in Bangladesh" Project implemented by Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM), funded by Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids (CTFK)-Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI).
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for media coverage/news of this project.
Creating a media strategy and mapping (media kits, key messages, images, and press conferences) to use mapping (media kits, key messages, images, and press conferences) to make use of the media appearance of prominent resource people for the project.
Collaborating with the team to develop and implement media strategies (including social media) efficiently and resourcefully for this project.
Developing and implementing strategies to increase the engagement of prominent media (print and electronic) for supporting the goals and communication objectives of the project.
Maintaining proactive and strong relationships with journalists from prominent media (gatekeepers/editors/ reporters) for efficient and effective media coverage on road-safety issues addressing the working areas of the project.
Drafting press releases, reports, brochures, social media contents and other communications materials as needed.
Working in conjunction with social media experts to develop and execute effective website and social media campaigns.
Maintaining Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tumblr, LinkedIn profiles of the project and keep posting various video clips, event news, write ups/Op-Eds/blogs, photos and other road-safety related information and initiating various innovative ways of utilizing these platforms.
Conducting media campaigns to raise public support for desired policy reformations.
Utilizing media properly to support the road safety Champions and other relevant stakeholders in desired policy reformations.
Increasing the media networking to share project stories to be published/ covered regularly.
Maintaining regular advocacy and coordination among media representatives regarding the project activities.
Preparing and submission of regular media advocacy reports to the line manager.
Developing communication materials for advocacy purpose (fact sheets, media kits, policy briefs, photos, personal testimonies, apparel and/or video).
Assist to arranging workshops, conferences, seminars, policy events, roundtable discussions, day observance programs, press conferences, and field visits targeting/involving decision-makers of relevant ministry and institutes.
Responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the project activities.
Providing the prescheduled monthly, quarterly and annual report to the line manager.
