∎ With the supervision by the Field Coordinator, the Communication and Advocacy Sr. Manager will be responsible to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy to promote Action Against Hunger`s programming in Cox`s base. S/he will provide guidance and support to staff and put in place a mechanism for implementing the Communications strategy at field level. As part of the role, s/he will lead Action Against Hunger`s media management, and `Communication with Communities` activities at field level. In order to accomplish the above, s/he will form and maintain a thorough understanding of Action Against Hunger`s history, values, culture, policies, long-term programming strategies, comparative advantage, and core business.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Internal Communication: Contribute to improve internal Communication system, capacity of Action Against Hunger Bangladesh and lead communications planning & implementation in Cox's Bazar.
∎ Develop and implement a communications strategy for Cox's Bazar to ensure Action Against Hunger's main messages and communications plan are aligned with Action Against Hunger's country and global strategy.
∎ Develop necessary tools and information based documents/formats to inform staff of organization's achievements/progress to align all staff understanding on Action Against Hunger's programming in Cox's Bazar.
∎ Develop communication tools to establish a functioning and effective internal communications system in Cox's Bazar base.
∎ External Communication: Media Management, Coordination
∎ Support Dhaka office with the development of informative and interesting press releases to enhance Action Against Hunger's media presence.
∎ Identify press opportunities through evolving issues.
∎ Act as the organization's media focal in Cox's Bazar, manage media queries, media relations and liaise with management/program teams to organize press interviews or media visits.
∎ Ensure participation of the base communication unit in external platforms and networks to represent and promote Action Against Hunger messages.
∎ Facilitate donor visits, HQ staff visits, communication agencies visits, when needed.
∎ Lead planning and implementation of Communication with Communities activities in Cox's Bazar.
∎ Facilitate CwC mainstreaming in Action Against Hunger's programming in Cox's Bazar.
∎ Oversee project's day-to-day activities as indicated in the DIP and MEAL plan and donor agreements.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Able to coordinate with appropriate stakeholders.
∎ Excellent English (both written and spoken),
∎ Good contextual knowledge of the Rohingya crisis,
∎ Photography skills a plus.
Salary: Tk. 131000 (Monthly)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Festival Bonus: 1-month basic salary twice per year.
