Responsibilities & Context:

Objective 1: To ensure the effective identification, assessment, and management of at-risk children and pregnant/lactating women, providing high-quality community-based malnutrition treatment, timely referrals, and ongoing support, while promoting proper nutrition and feeding practices to facilitate sustained recovery and prevent relapses.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify children under five years and pregnant/lactating women at risk of malnutrition, utilizing standardized tools and protocols.

  • Provide high-quality, community-based care and treatment for at-risk infants and mothers, ensuring early intervention for malnourished children and pregnant/lactating women through proper nutrition and medical care.

  • Ensure timely referral of children and mothers to Stabilization Centers or other specialized services when necessary, ensuring that all identified cases receive appropriate and comprehensive care.

  • Monitor and identify danger signs in children and mothers, ensuring prompt actions are taken for cases requiring urgent medical attention or transfer to higher-level health facilities.

  • Provide effective counseling to caregivers, educating them on proper nutrition, feeding practices, and home-based care to support ongoing recovery and prevent relapses.

  • Regularly track the progress of at-risk children and mothers, offering continued support and nutritional guidance to ensure sustained improvement and recovery.

Objective 2:Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity report.

  • Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies, asking questions and/or for support when necessary;

  • Implement all work related activities with a gender, disability and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries;

  • Ensure the incorporation of PSEA and gender equity principles in all policies and activities;

  • Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.
