Experience:
Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, or a related field from a reputed university.
Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in communication and advocacy within international humanitarian or development organizations.
Proven track record of 8-10 years in designing and implementing advocacy strategies, campaigns, and donor communication requirements.
Strong knowledge of donor regulations and communication standards (BMZ, GFFO, UN, USAID, GAC, EU, ECHO, and other major foundations).
Demonstrated ability to develop advocacy materials, policy briefs, press releases, and donor reports tailored to diverse audiences.
Experience coordinating media engagement, public campaigns, and stakeholder outreach at national and international levels.
Strong skills in strategic communication planning, donor reporting, and compliance management.
Excellent ability to craft compelling narratives, success stories, and impact reports.
Highly tech-savvy with advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint), social media platforms, and cloud-based communication tools.
Strong supervisory, organizational, and intercultural communication skills.
Demonstrates systems thinking by integrating cross-sectoral insights into communication and advocacy strategies; shows a proactive learning mindset by seeking feedback and supporting adaptive management.

Expert Communication & Advocacy, Bangladesh
Welthungerhilfe is seeking an Expert Communication & Advocacy to join our Bangladesh Country Office. This position will lead strategic communication, advocacy initiatives, and visibility actions for Welthungerhilfe (WHH) in Bangladesh. The role ensures alignment of the national communication and advocacy strategy with WHH’s global communications department, Advocacy Advisor, partners, and other WHH Country Offices across the region.
The Communications & Advocacy Expert enhances WHH’s public engagement, supports donor relations, strengthens evidence-based advocacy, and builds communication capacities of country teams and partners. The role requires strong systems thinking, a learning-focused mindset, and the ability to operate in a highly digitalized environment.
Your Responsibilities
Communication & Visibility
Maintain an up-to-date and engaging country landing page and other social media channels.
Produce high-quality communication materials, including brochures, reports, newsletters, social media content, success stories, videos, and case studies.
Ensure alignment with WHH communication standards and donor visibility requirements.
Coordinate annual reporting and PR calendars with WHH HQ communications and the national programme team.
Maintain a national image, photo, and knowledge archive, embedded in the global WHH library.
Media & Public Relations
Build and sustain relationships with media outlets and journalists.
Organize press briefings, media visits, and public events.
Draft and disseminate press releases and media statements.
Ensure consistent messaging and branding across media content.
Coordinate PR campaigns with WHH HQ and regional country offices.
Advocacy & Outreach
Develop and implement regional and national advocacy strategies with WHH country offices and partners.
Produce advocacy materials, including policy briefs, fact sheets, and position papers.
Represent WHH in policy platforms and advocacy networks (e.g., CFS, SAARC, IFOAM).
Donor & Stakeholder Engagement
Produce communication products for donors, including briefs, visibility materials, and donor reports.
Organize and coordinate donor visits, ensuring adequate visibility and messaging.
Ensure quality control of donor communication outputs.
Contribute to regional fundraising and marketing strategies.
Programme Integration & Partner Support / Capacity Building
Support project teams and partners in IEC material development and documentation.
Promote cross-country collaboration and knowledge sharing within the region.
Design and deliver training in communication, advocacy, and branding for staff and partners.
Strengthening storytelling and documentation skills.
Knowledge Management (in coordination with MEAL)
Documentary lessons learned, success stories, and best practices.
Coordinate communication coverage for key programme events and workshops.
Ensure systematic documentation for internal learning and external visibility.
Systems Thinking & Learning Attitude
Apply a systems-thinking approach by recognizing linkages between thematic priority areas, sectors, and communication/advocacy strategies, ensuring integrated and holistic approaches.
Demonstrate a proactive learning mindset by seeking feedback, reflecting on monitoring and evaluation findings, and supporting project adjustments.
