Job Context:
∎ The Program Development Specialist - Bangladesh, reporting to the Country Program Lead must be a proven leader with the skills and expertise necessary to support the Program Development in Bangladesh for implementing RIMES mission and vision. S/he will support to build and maintain positive working relationships with the different government stakeholders. The position will also support proposal and program development.
∎ The position may also be given specific responsibilities of projects as and when necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Program Development Specialist – Bangladesh shall:
∎ a) Support preparation of demand driven proposals for donors and government agencies considering country context and RIMES country program priorities
∎ b) Coordinate with stakeholder agencies for collaboration and input on program development
∎ c) Uptake project activities as assigned and when necessary and ensure smooth implementation
∎ d) Documentation and communication of in country project and program activities, including project accomplishments, impact assessment, good practices, lessons learned and program planning
∎ e) Support preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports
∎ f) Support monitoring and evaluation of in-country projects
∎ g) Provide supervisory support to project staff as per requirement
∎ h) Research and develop new ideas for project development
∎ i) Perform any other relevant duties as required

∎ Business : The Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System for Africa and Asia (RIMES) is an international and intergovernmental institution, owned and managed by its Member States, for the generation and application of early warning information. RIMES evolved from the efforts of countries in Africa and Asia, in the aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, to establish a regional early warning system within a multi-hazard framework for the generation and communication of early warning information, and capacity building for preparedness and response to trans-boundary hazards. RIMES was established on 30 April 2009, and was registered with the United Nations on 1 July 2009.
