Job Context

The Procurement Executive is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and accessories required for furniture production. This role plays a critical part in maintaining uninterrupted manufacturing operations by managing supplier relationships, monitoring inventory, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The position requires close coordination with production, design, and quality teams to support both ongoing and new furniture projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers to ensure continuous availability of raw materials including boards, hardware, upholstery materials, laminates, fittings, and accessories.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, and contracts with vendors to achieve optimal cost savings while maintaining required quality standards.
  • Plan and monitor inventory levels in coordination with production teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations and avoid stock shortages or excess.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, follow up on order status, and ensure timely delivery of materials as per production schedules.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations based on quality, delivery lead time, pricing, and service efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with design and production teams to understand material specifications and requirements for existing and new furniture models.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records including supplier databases, pricing history, contracts, and purchase documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards by inspecting received materials and coordinating with Quality Assurance teams for approvals.
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives through alternative materials, new vendor sourcing, bulk purchasing, or improved negotiation strategies.
  • Stay informed about market trends, material innovations, price fluctuations, and emerging technologies within the furniture industry.
  • Address and resolve supply-related issues such as delivery delays, material shortages, or quality discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate procurement data, cost analysis, and market insights to management.
