  • At least 3–5 years of professional experience in knowledge management, research, documentation, or advocacy in development programmes.
  • Experience in climate change, disaster risk reduction, governance, migration, WASH, or resilience programmes will be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in policy engagement, research documentation, and knowledge dissemination.

Competencies

  • Strong analytical and writing skills in English and Bangla.
  • Experience in developing policy briefs, reports, and communication materials.
  • Knowledge of advocacy processes and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear knowledge products.
  • Strong facilitation and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and digital communication tools.

Job Context

Uttaran is an NGO working in Bangladesh since 1985 to uphold rights and entitlements and to improve the socio-economic condition of the poor and disadvantaged community people. Uttaran is a people-centered organization using a rights-based approach to alleviate poverty, diversify livelihood opportunities and empower poor communities of Bangladesh.

Uttaran invites applications for the vacant position titled- Officer – Knowledge Management & Advocacy for the Actions to Climate Change Ensuring Sustainable Solutions (ACCESS) Project.

Reports to: Project Operation Manager.

Position Overview

The Officer – Knowledge Management and Advocacy will lead the documentation, knowledge generation, communication, and advocacy processes of the project. The position will ensure that evidence, learning, innovations, and successful models generated from project interventions are properly documented, analyzed, and disseminated to stakeholders including government institutions, development partners, CSOs, and communities.

The role will also support policy engagement and advocacy initiatives to influence climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, climate migration governance, climate-responsive WASH budgeting, and other relevant policy processes at local, regional, and national levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Knowledge Management and Documentation

  • Develop and implement a Knowledge Management strategy for the project.
  • Document project interventions, best practices, innovations, and learning across thematic areas such as: Climate Information Service (CIS), Climate Migration Hub, Early Warning for All (EW4All), Climate and WASH Budget, Local Adaptation Plans (LAPA), Loss and Damage, Nature Based Solutions (NbS), Inclusive WASH and Natural Resource Management
  • Produce case studies, success stories, learning briefs, technical notes, and documentation reports.
  • Compile and maintain project knowledge products including assessments, guidelines, policy briefs, training modules, and reports.
  • Support documentation of events, workshops, consultations, exposure visits, and training programs.
  • Develop and manage a digital repository of project knowledge products.

Evidence Generation and Learning

  • Coordinate with programme and MEAL teams to collect evidence, data, and learning from field interventions.
  • Ensure that Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) perspectives are integrated into all knowledge management, documentation, communication, and advocacy activities.
  • Document good practices, case studies, and learning related to gender-responsive and inclusive climate resilience interventions.
  • Support the preparation of analytical reports, research summaries, and learning documents.
  • Facilitate learning events, reflection workshops, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
  • Support development of policy briefs and research outputs based on project findings.

Communication and Outreach

  • Develop IEC materials, brochures, booklets, newsletters, and communication materials highlighting project achievements and innovations.
  • Support dissemination of climate information, awareness messages, and project outcomes through different communication channels.
  • Coordinate media engagement, including articles, blogs, social media content, and public awareness campaigns.
  • Document and promote community-level campaigns and advocacy initiatives.

Advocacy and Policy Engagement

  • Support the design and implementation of advocacy strategies aligned with project objectives.
  • Prepare policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy materials on key issues such as: Climate resilience and DRR, Climate migration governance, Climate-responsive WASH budgeting, Loss and Damage, Nature-based solutions
  • Facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogues, policy discussions, and roundtable events with government agencies, CSOs, and development partners.
  • Support organization of regional and national consultation workshops and policy events.
  • Contribute to national and international advocacy platforms and events.

Knowledge Dissemination and Learning Platforms

  • Organize knowledge dissemination events including seminars, workshops, and learning visits.
  • Support publication of reports, policy briefs, and advocacy materials.
  • Coordinate dissemination of knowledge products to stakeholders including: Government institutions, Universities and research organizations, Civil society organizations, Development partners.

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Work closely with programme, MEAL, communication, and technical teams to ensure consistent knowledge management and advocacy.
  • Maintain liaison with government departments, research institutions, media, and civil society networks.
  • Support partnerships with universities, research organizations, and policy platforms.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator to ensure effective project implementation.



Job Other Benifits:
    Salary: 44,100/- BDT (Including all) Compensation & other benefits: As per Uttaran`s Policy and Project Design.
