Essential requirements:

  • Minimum of eight years’ progressive work experience, ideally within the development sector with a local or international development organisation, including at least two years in a coordinator or management role.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage programs, deliver on project objectives, and produce high-quality reports for management and donors.

  • Experience engaging with divisional and district-level government offices, local and international donor organisations, and other partners, with a solid understanding of Bangladesh’s government structure and local administration.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and maintain positive public relations with external partners.

  • Wide-ranging knowledge of development trends and standards in Bangladesh, including SDG and health policy concepts.

  • Computer literate, with experience in database management and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).

  • Fluent in English and Bengali.

Desirable experience:

  • Experience in coordination of public health projects, particularly eye health initiatives.

  • Knowledge and experience of advocacy and networking at district and sub-district level administration.

  • Proficiency in the local (Sylhet) language.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Project Coordinator (PC) is accountable for the workplan design and delivery of the project “Bangladesh insight: System Leadership Approach to Eye Health” (Sylhet). The PC works to establish and coordinate key partnerships and advocacy to ensure effective program management and delivery takes place on time, within budget, and in line with the project goals, country strategy and FHF values. The role will be based in Sylhet with frequent travel throughout the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborating with partners and diverse stakeholders to manage high-quality programs, overseeing implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project in Sylhet division.

  • Engaging multifaceted partners across the community, serving as the main point of contact, and coordinating initiatives.

  • Professionally representing the organisation and advocating for its goals.

  • Representing FHF in district, divisional and sub-district level meetings as required.

  • Coordinating and managing the field mobilisers.

  • Identifying, reporting, monitoring, and mitigating risks within projects and partnerships.

  • Preparing high-quality reports for management and donors, including field visit reports, and quarterly and annual reporting.

  • Supporting the development of communication materials.

  • Ensuring that project activities are culturally appropriate, especially in the context of the district.

  • Managing project budgets according to policies.

  • Contributing to overall team objectives, to foster a culture of engagement and collaboration.

  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of processes.

  • Staying informed about industry trends and issues and proactively acquiring information to meet project objectives.

  • Undertaking additional tasks as requested to contribute to the success of the project and The Foundation.
