• B.Sc. /M.Sc. in Agriculture, Business Administration and Engineering are eligible to apply. Agriculture background (B.Sc./M.Sc. in Agriculture or related field) will be given priority.

Experience: Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in livelihood development, agribusiness, or enterprise development.

Additional Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of climate-resilient agriculture and coastal livelihoods.
• Experience in business plan development and mentoring youth entrepreneurs.
• Experience in revolving fund management or microfinance mechanisms.
• Ability to work with youth and women groups in rural settings.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Experience in engaging with private sector and market systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office and digital reporting tools.
• Experience in coastal areas (Satkhira/Khulna) will be considered an advantage.

Uttaran invites applications for the vacant position titled- Business Development Officer for the Seeds of Resilience: Turning Climate Adversity into Enterprise and Empowerment.

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Job Responsibilities

The Business Development Officer This initiative aims to empower adolescents and youth in coastal Bangladesh to establish climate-resilient and market-oriented enterprises through business development training, demonstration plots, revolving soft loans, and strong market linkages. The project supports youth to build sustainable livelihoods that contribute to climate adaptation and community resilience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage project activities related to business development, youth entrepreneurship, enterprise support, and impact investment.
• Work closely with Uttaran's impac -investment activities and support participants.
• Support day-to-day activities, monitoring, and management of Uttaran Agro Business Enterprise.
• Conduct group management activities and facilitate sessions with youth and adolescent groups.
• Conduct and support training on business development, enterprise management, financial literacy, marketing, and sustainability.
• Support youth entrepreneurs in developing business plans, market assessments, and enterprise improvement strategies.
• Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to impact investment participants.
• Identify and mobilize new participants for business investment and impact investment support.
• Promote understanding and dissemination of impact investment knowledge among communities and organization.
• Prepare training materials, activity documents, case studies, and project documentation.
• Prepare reports and updates for donors and management.
• Attend weekly and monthly meetings and provide progress updates.
• Participate in workshops, collaboration events, and networking activities and share learning.
• Support the line manager in effective project implementation.
• Maintain records of participant progress, enterprise performance, investment tracking, and lessons learned.
• Ensure climate resilience, sustainability, and market orientation in enterprise development activities.
