Experience:
Sound knowledge of Bangladesh Labor Law
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Hands-on experience in payroll processing (salary, overtime, attendance, leave, deductions)
Knowledge of statutory compliance
Strong record-keeping and documentation skills
Attendance & Timekeeping Verification:
Check biometric / punch-in-punch-out data
Verify late entry, early exit, and absenteeism
Cross-check shift rosters
Follow up with supervisors & IT for missing attendance data
Overtime (OT) Validation
Collect OT sheets from production, Maintenance and other Dept/sections
Verify OT justification against production demand
Ensure OT is approved by the department head
Detect and correct OT anomalies (ghost OT, duplicate entries)
Leave Management
Record approved leaves (casual, sick, annual, special)
Check leave balance before processing
Update leave database in ERP
Clarify unapproved leave with supervisors
Data Entry & Payroll Update
Enter daily attendance, OT hours, leave, and deductions into the payroll system
Maintain employee master data (new joiners, resignations, transfers)
Wage & Salary Reconciliation
Check whether daily wages match attendance + OT
Ensure allowances are included
Confirm statutory components:
✓ Tax/TDS
✓ Other deductions (advance, canteen, loan)
Coordination with Departments
Communicate with Production, Maintenance, Distribution, Accounts etc.
Clarify any irregularity in attendance or OT
Collect new employee joining forms
Coordinate with HR about discipline-related deductions
Responding to Employee Queries
Answer wage, OT, leave balance queries at wage help-desk
Solve disputes regarding wrong attendance or deductions
Assist workers with pay slip issues
Ensure child/young labor compliance
Daily Reporting
Prepare daily payroll-related reports:
Daily attendance summary
OT summary by department
Absentee list
New joiners & separation list
Pending approvals list
Confirmation list
Preparing for Month-End Payroll
Although not done daily, the payroll officer must work on:
Monthly salary sheet preparation
Preparing final settlement for resigned employee
