∎ Nutrition and Health Project Sr.Officer-Research is responsible for supervision of Action Against Hunger (ACF) & John Hopkins combine research "COVID-19 in Humanitarian and Fragile contexts: Surveillance, program monitoring, social interaction and policy analysis" activities on COVID-19, including data collection, data management as well as coordination with relevant partners and government, taking necessary actions regarding proper conduction of research activities in field level.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Objective 1: Responsible for Collecting Research Data From Respondent and Respective Facility.
∎ Responsible for collecting and analyzing health service information (population size, composition, status and number of beneficiaries involved, diseases prevalence, morbidity, mortality etc.) under the guidance of the research program manager. This information is then applied to selection of the survey area, sampling and analysis/ interpretation of results.
∎ Analyze technical information collected in the field and identify areas where documentation is needed in terms of nutrition and produce a draft report.
∎ Collection of relevant information, regarding the possible COVID-19 outcome, communicate to the Program Manager for prioritization.
∎ Objective 2: Managing Logistics.
∎ Identify procurement requirements for research and communicate to program manager for follow up with appropriate support staff.
∎ Work in close coordination with the logistics and administration at the field base to ensure provision of materials with the support required to complete the research in a timely and efficient manner.
∎ Ensure the effective and efficient use of all ACF resources.
∎ Provide administrative support required (follow-up for approval of field based expenditures).
∎ Objective 3: Network and Coordination with the Relevant Sectors.
∎ Establish good Relationship with the district and upazila health authorities, partners and Community stakeholders.
∎ Establish a network with the other actors in the district and upazila level (UN, NGOs).
∎ Establish a good working Relationship with the nutrition intervention program staffs
∎ Objective 4: Data Management / Analysis.
∎ Collection and compilation of the daily, weekly and monthly research data / statistic reports and submission to the Program Manager (PM).
∎ Analysis data using relevant applications.
∎ Objective 5: Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity.
∎ Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies, asking questions and/or for support when necessary.
∎ Implement all work related activities with a gender, disability and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries.
∎ Ensure the incorporation of gender equity principles in all policies and activities.
∎ Encourage the participation of all genders in meeting and on committees.
∎ Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Two years relevant field in the field of public health research, nutrition survey, or management of nutrition project (CMAM/IMCN, IYCF etc.)
∎ Understanding of public health research / survey and information systems.
∎ DHIS data handling and analysis.
∎ Expertise in SPSS and Excel.
∎ A positive attitude and ability to plan and adapt to change.
∎ Ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field.
∎ Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to survey areas.
∎ Good knowledge of the Local and English languages.
∎ Good communication skills.
∎ Familiarity with program area is highly desired.
Salary: Tk. 71000 (Monthly)
