Candidates with Data Science, ML experience will be given preference.
3–5 years of experience in Node.js / NestJS backend development.
Strong SQL skills with MySQL/PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with data normalization and mapping systems.
Must be proficient in English both in verbal and written.
Must have Analytical mindset with attention to performance and data accuracy.
Responsibilities & Context:
We are looking for a Backend Developer to join the development team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing backend services that process and standardize high-volume university data, power dynamic dashboards, and manage data mapping, deduplication, and scoring frameworks.
You will work closely with Data Analysts, DevOps Engineers, and Frontend Developers to build scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices for real-time analytics.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and maintain NestJS microservices under NX monorepo.
Implement APIs and gRPC communication for cross-service data exchange among three or more platforms.
Build backend logic for:
- Data upload validation and normalization.
- Deduplication, mapping, and version control of student records.
- Funnel conversion logic and report calculations.
- Role-based access control (RBAC) for user and dashboard permissions.
Design and maintain ETL-like data pipelines for CSV/Excel ingestion and automated API syncs.
Integrate with AWS services (S3, RDS, KMS, CloudWatch, ElasticCache, etc.).
Collaborate with Data team to define database schema for:
- Application stages (Apps → Offers → UF/FA → Reg)
- Agent metadata, scoring, and tiering models
- Audit logs and data version history
Build and maintain secure APIs for Power BI / Tableau / external report integrations.
Optimize query performance for MySQL (AWS RDS) and MongoDB (secondary analytics DB).
Support real-time data sync using WebSocket/Kafka message queues.
Ensure encryption, data integrity, and compliance with privacy regulations.
Collaborate with DevOps for Docker-based CI/CD pipelines and scalable AWS EKS deployment.
