Job Responsibilities:
∎ To champion environmental management and articulate the program strategy and the specific approaches on community resilience and sustainable resource management
∎ To articulate the environment and climate change issues and community resilience programming to Field Regional Offices, ADP/AP teams to guide the development of approaches and processes that support conservation and resource management and community resilience in World Vision programme areas
∎ To recommend options for effective mitigation of climate change impacts in the ADP/AP and project locations of WVB
∎ Assist the development of guidelines for the implementation of standards for field level delivery of climate change adaptation development and community resilience approaches
∎ Lead in the designing of participatory assessments, baseline and the development of monitoring tools to monitor these components (climate change and adaptation and community resilience) and advocating their integration into the programme systems and program planning, implementation and evaluation processes
∎ Manage information flow, prepare, analyze and submit progress reports relevant to the ministry components.
∎ To investigate current and emerging environmental and climate change and community resilience issues so as to inform WVB on appropriate programming options
∎ Lead the development of community owned environment protections plans.
∎ Develop capacity of Field Regional and ADP/AP staffs in the area of environmental protection and climate change adaptation and influence programmatic mindset and community resilience
∎ Enhance staff understanding of the likely responses to the effects of change and help influence the adjustment of program management as deemed necessary
∎ Maintain strong networking with all stakeholders and document best practices from internal and external partners to ensure systematic knowledge growth from lessons learnt and also disseminate the best practices which promote sustainable development and community resilience
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 28 years
∎ At least 5 years in the field of environment and climate change, preferably in an NGO environment
∎ Experience in Project proposal development and working with and managing large grants in sector programming for major bilateral and multilateral donors.
∎ Experience growing a diverse portfolio through new business development, strategic positioning, grants, contracts and partnerships
∎ Experience in monitoring and or evaluating environment related programs/sector coordination in a complex, international organization
∎ Proven ability to do networking, advocacy, partnerships
∎ Expertise in environmental analysis, climate change analysis, disaster management, disaster risk reduction approaches
∎ Strong facilitation skills and ability to conduct trainings/capacity building programmes independently.
∎ Understanding of the vision and mission of World Vision and Humanitarian industry
∎ Understand the environment friendly approaches, such as Eco/Environment friendly villages
∎ Holistic Understanding of poverty and development
∎ Understanding of the impact of human beings on environment, biodiversity, sustainable resource management
∎ Understanding of Climate change adaptation (especially CSA) and mitigation (especially DRR and Community-based disaster management approaches) approaches
∎ Knowledge of carbon credit markets and corporate carbon emissions reduction planning and implementation
∎ Understanding of knowledge management and research
∎ Training and facilitation skills
∎ Strong written and oral communication skills
∎ Critical thinking, creative and innovative thinking skills
∎ Competent in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Salary: Tk. 70000 - 80000 (Monthly)
