The Health Programme Lead will provide technical leadership for SAJIDA Foundation's health portfolio, ensuring that programmes are evidence-based, clinically sound, ethically delivered, and designed for effective implementation and scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic and Technical Leadership

  • Provide strategic direction for health programmes in alignment with organisational priorities and national health strategies.

  • Lead development and improvement of programme models, technical approaches, implementation strategies, and scale-up plans.

  • Ensure integration of evidence-based and context-appropriate public health interventions across programmes.

  • Support incorporation of innovative and technology-enabled solutions to strengthen service delivery, referral systems, data use, and programme management.

  • Provide technical oversight to ensure programme quality, effectiveness, and compliance with donor and organisational standards.

2. Programme Management and Implementation

  • Oversee implementation of health projects to ensure timely delivery, quality performance, and achievement of programme targets.

  • Support development of implementation plans, budgets, and operational strategies.

  • Monitor programme progress and identify implementation bottlenecks, risks, and corrective actions.

  • Ensure effective coordination between technical, operations, MEAL, finance, and field teams.

  • Strengthen systems for supportive supervision, field monitoring, quality assurance, and documentation of lessons learned.

3. Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain effective working relationships with government authorities, other stakeholders across development sector.

  • Represent SAJIDA Foundation in technical working groups, coordination forums, and external engagements.

  • Support strategic collaboration and partnership development for resource mobilisation and programme expansion.

  • Facilitate coordination with local government and health system actors to strengthen ownership and sustainability.

4. Proposal Development and Technical Writing

  • Contribute to development of concept notes, technical proposals, donor reports, presentations, and strategic documents.

  • Review programmatic documents to ensure technical quality, coherence, and alignment with donor expectations.

  • Support identification of funding opportunities and contribute to fundraising efforts.

5. Monitoring, Learning, and Knowledge Management

  • Promote data-driven programme management and use of evidence for decision-making.

  • Support development and review of indicators, results frameworks, and programme monitoring systems.

  • Ensure documentation of best practices, innovations, implementation learning, and impact stories.

  • Contribute to organisational learning, technical capacity building, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

6. Team Leadership and Capacity Building

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to programme teams.

  • Support capacity strengthening of technical and field staff through coaching, training, and performance support.

  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and solution-oriented work environment.
