Working Experience and Other Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in implementing relevant projects especially on monitoring and evaluation at local and national level

• Research and evaluation design, reporting, and knowledge management

• Maintaining information and data management platforms

• Quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills including the use of relevant softwares

• Good computer knowledge and using statistical packages such as SPSS

• Performance management and monitoring in human resources

• Fluency in spoken and written English

Workplace: Work at office and including intensive field visit.

WAVE Foundation is a civil society organization established in 1990, has been implementing multifaceted activities for the socio economic development of the poor and marginalized as well as the establishment of universal human rights and good governance. Besides, the organization is conducting issue based policy advocacy and campaigns. WAVE is driven by its motto `Together for Better Life’ towards the vision of establishing `A just and Prosperous society’. WAVE has organized its activities into 6 programs: 1) Poverty Eradication and Livelihood Development 2) Community Financing and Entrepreneurship Development 3) Agri-Food System Transformation 4) Governance, Rights and Justice 5) Social Development and Youth Empowerment 6) Climate Justice and Renewable Energy Promotion. WAVE Foundation is going to implement a project titled ‘Gender Equality Transforms Climate Action (GETCA)’ under Nagorikata: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF) by GFA Consulting Group. This project aims to Increase voice, representation, recognition, and participation of civil society (especially women, youth, and members of marginalized communities) in decision-making, influencing, holding government to account, and seeking redress for violations in addressing climate change issues. The project is jointly financed by Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development (SDC) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC). WAVE Foundation leads a consortium comprising 4 partners across Rajshahi and Barishal divisions. The implementation area spans 15 upazilas and 90 unions Under Barishal, Barguna, Patuakhali, Rajshahi and Naogaon districts. WAVE Foundation is seeking qualified candidate for the position of the ‘Monitoring & Evaluation Officer’ of this project.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring & Evaluation Officer is responsible for program design, setting-up output and outcome indicators, regular activity monitoring and provide feedback to gear-up the activities for achieving the project objectives including staff development and financial management, conducting relevant training, workshop/seminars, field level training conduction, supervision and reporting to the PM as well as to the Program Focal. His/her duties and responsibilities, which are essential but not limited to:

• Design a monitoring and Evaluation framework for the project following the direction of project log-frame and development partner’s requirement      

• Develop monitoring format in consultation with Project Manager, district and upazila level staffs, project participants and relevant stakeholders;·

• Conduct & coordinate monitoring process of the field and national level project activities both in quantitative and qualitative aspect

• Collect necessary data/information from the field, compile & analyze those and documented properly;

• Coordinate to prepare all sorts of reports including necessary suggestion for program upgradation and documentation in time;

• Maintain close coordination with Project Manager, District and Upazila coordinators and liaison with other stakeholders;

• Assist PM to organize & participate different level events and documented properly;

• Need based any other tasks or duties assigned by the senior management of the WAVE Foundation.

• Monthly consolidated salary is BDT 44,000 with other admissible benefits as per the organization`s policy/project provision.

• Salary and other admissible benefits (if any) are inclusive of all taxes as imposed by the government of Bangladesh.

• Taxes will be deducted at sources as per government rules.
